Bishop calls for national peace and tranquillity…honesty, integrity, accountability from new cabinet

Bishop of Roseau, His Lordship Gabriel Malzaire, has called for peace and tranquillity in the post-election period and asked that both political parties work together for the advancement of Dominica.

He gave that advice during the swearing-in ceremony of the new cabinet of Dominica earlier this week.

“After such a fierce contest between the contending parties as they sought to prove themselves worthy of the leadership of your people in due respect to these same people, help us all to settle down in peace and tranquillity, working together once again for the advancement of all,” Bishop Malzaire said.

He continued, “May today’s proceedings be worthy of your praise and that they serve as impetus for a life of love of peace, of prosperity…”

The Bishop also reminded the newly sworn-in cabinet of ministers of the need to pursue honesty, integrity, impartiality and accountability in carrying out the duties of their office.

“Help them be mindful that an oath is a sacred act which binds persons to the truth of that for which they pledge themselves, rendering them duty-bound to exercise their responsibilities not only on behalf of the country but also on their own behalf. Hence, the necessity to pursue honesty, integrity, impartiality and accountability in carrying out their duties of the office,” Bishop Malzaire prayed. “Let these qualities be the hallmark of the governance of our beloved land of Dominica.”

He prayed for God’s blessings on the leader of the Opposition, Lennox Linton and his “collaborators” that they will continue “to seek earnestly to present viable options for good governance in this country.”

The Bishop also called on the Lord to bless President His Excellency Charles Savarin, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit and his new cabinet.

For the sake of one party State Skerrit I hope the bishop have the sanction of the govt of China because otherwise he will be in trouble. You know China have catholic bishops but only if are approved by the communist State even if recommended by the church. Business as usual.

Thanks Bishop, well said, but there are still burning outstanding issues/matters of state still to be addressed and uncover from this current failed, deceptive corrupt Labour government headed by this failed incompetent Skerrit, who should have never been Prime “Odd” Minister at all. Skerrit and his failed immature, corrupted devious Labour government has failed our people and our nature Isle Dominica.
We are saddened that there are no independent institutions from the constitution too direct and independently arrest and comprehend his labour government before a state inquiry where they must be accountable to address the bigger issues of our state that we need answers to ASAP.

A number of my friends are not willing to remain in Dominica due to what they see as “corruption” in government. However, I’m staying put. Knowing that, good will overcome evil. Dominica is beautiful and unique place; and so, I’m not willing to leave to the Dogs. The Devil wants to hand over Dominica to foreigners of all sorts and get rid of the Original Dominicans – Can’t happen, won’t happen. God Bless Dominica. Let’s pray for our beloved country which the Almighty has given to us. It’s a paradise and we don’t need no Bishop here.

They use their psychology to convince the people of things that are not applicable and beneficial for growth, mental toughness, and prosperity. Instead of a prosperous nation, we have become subjugated, oppressed, dependable, poor and helpless as a result of the religious and political institutions. They were placed among African people to continue another institution, known as SLAVERY. Have we gotten better as a people through religion and politics? Who continue to get rich and profit on the backs of poor people? Wake up people!
Mr. bishop, while you continue to advice so-called leaders, why is it that you never defended the people who were tear-gassed in Salisbury and point out and condemned the wrong perpetrated by this present administration during the recent elections? You are a wolf in sheep clothing and you serve your European god very well by continuing to keep poor people’s mind in eternal spiritual slavery. Our democratic rights have been taken away!!!!!!!

I have been declaring that religion and politics are two institutions that go hand in hand. You cannot find one without the other. They have been put in place to control the minds of the masses and more so, those who do not research the truth for themselves. We have depended and allowed these institutions to direct our every day lives without questioning their motives. We were taught to trust in god and don’t question the bible because it is the word of god. What we need to ask and find out are which god and whose bible? I suggest that those of us who would like to break the chains of mental and physical slavery, need to arise from the religious and political bondage that have us in a stupor. We have to rise against these institutions radically because if we don’t, the perpetual slavery will continue. The Willie Lynch letter is a reference. These men are wolves in sheep clothing, coming to mislead poor people who have no idea of what is happening to them.

We must first ask ourselves, what is the main source of the hurt, tension, disturbance and anger in the country ? It is the unjustifiable wrongs committed against the people. Skerrit has heaped scorn on the people’s aspirations; used the lofty office of the Prime Minister to divide the whole country even the Diaspora; enriched himself and his loyal enablers while he impoverished the ordinary citizens; destroyed the economy; corrupted the electoral system; butchered the once thriving agricultural sector and turned Dominica in an underdeveloped, laughing stock of the world. He has forever indelibly stained the once pristine image of the country. These high debt, high crime, high unemployment, high poverty, high corruption misleaders from around the Caribbean who have lined up to praise this severely corrupt man after an election fraught with fraud and corruption should be considered traitors of democracy. Not a word from them before this sham election. SHAME! SHAME! SHAME!

Them are hypocrites. Them calling for peace but nobody calls for justice. How on God’s earth should anyone call for peace when no one cares about justice? Do these religious people read what they refer to as The Holy Bible? Genesis 15:14 was the first mention of the word “judge”‘ from whence we get justice. However, in verse 15 was the first mention of peace . Because if there is justice there will be peace. Those hypocrites talk about peace and tranquility but says nothing about justice or injustice, since that’s what we have been experiencing here since the death of Piece Charles.

    • December 20, 2019

“If there is justice there will be peace” @Peter Tosh

All you should stop using the word hypocrite; you all are not qualified to do so

You use the Bible out of contest–especially the Old Testament–but you do not understand God’s Word.

“Justice” comes from God alone. His 4 greatest traits are Love, Wisdom, Justice, and Mercy.

If you think mankind can exercise “justice”, the World will always be at war. For man cannot exercise justice regardless of his status, justice can only come from God.

Or else why is it that one judge says: “You are not guilty” and the other one says: “You are guilty, by the word of the jury? Without God, no one knows what is right or wrong

And as far as “peace” is concerned that is another no, no! Because what is known as peace, to mankind, is no fight, no battle, and no war; in this World?

The Bishop is speaking that same kind of peace, for he, himself, does not know the peace of God, which is of His Love

      December 22, 2019

      Dear Peter Tosh,
Our beloved Lord has not ask us to ask for Justice but instead as for mercy for it in his words he said that there is none righteous and that we have all sinned. Like the woman caught in adultery at the hands of her executors was saved because Our Lord Jesus said to the Mob let he without sin throw the first stone.
We have all sinned and some day he will return to judge ( Justice) the living and the dead.

Take a look at his face, the smirk on this man’s face, then take a look at Mia ‘I CANNOT SKIP A MEAL’ Motley’s face. Now do you see the similarity with their contempt for Dominicans?

This fake masquerading as a man of God is a religious con-man who needs to be kicked out of Dominic, like Malcolm X said “By any means necessary.” On his own volition or not.

But he is not the real danger in Dominica. He is just a ……. tool being used by the Chinese in their subjugation of the people of Dominica. These Chinese know that black leaders are extremely greedy and do not have the best interest of their people at heart, in the same manner they did with the African experience.

So for any change in Dominica to begin, we must first deal with the Chinese problem, because they are spying on Dominicans for Roosevelt Skeritt, at home and abroad. No matter how much money China spend and give to negros, THEY CAN NEVER BE MORE INFLUENTIAL IN THE CARIBBEAN THAN THE UNITED STATES OF…

The prayers of unrighteous people will never be answered by my lord. Those who fail to to lead the lords people in time of need and professes to be men of god shall be damned. The lord has opened mine eyes and if the Bishop eyes were closed and his ears were blocked during and after the election then he should leave Dominica for we the patriots. God does NOT like ugly especially if you profess to be his shepherd. Until such time I shall NEVER step in a catholic church again. Hypocrites and parasites…. 8) 8) 8)

    • December 21, 2019

The fact that you speak about “my lord” makes it easy to tell that “your lord” is not the “Lord” of Heaven.

You so-called people of the “lord”, is not the people of the “Lord” of Heaven.

You sound a lot like you are talking about the lord of this World; I think you meant to say “he opened your mind” to fill it up with more darkness, which has completed, blinded the eyes of your spirit.

I think that this happened to you and yours since the stone ages ago. My goodness gracious me!

The bishop has been getting his cool out throughout the years. that is why he couldnt do or say anything about the DLP and that is going on when he was pressed in the streets of Marigot. He is part of the problem. Up till now the roof of the cathedral in Roseau still cannot fix. I myself want to know how many more millions it need?

    Pure hypocrisy!!!
In any society, organisation and /or institution, there are preconditions for peace to prevail.
One man stood in the way of electoral reform, the main underpinning of our democracy, he cheated and stole the general election by bringing in 8000-10000 people to vote for his corrupt party, then you are there supporting this crap as the Catholic Church bishop? That’s why I say that most of the churches and some of the church goers are as brutal as Skerrit himself..
This prayer was not intended to be heard by God, since it was hypocritical and insincere.
    God does not condone thievery!

Great point , %. “Religion is the opium of the people.” This statement was coined by the German philosopher and economist, Karl Marx. Too many of these religious so called leaders are just wolves in sheep’s clothing leading their followers to a certain Lake of Fire. I’ve exited that train long time.

I concur, my friend. The truth must come to the surface so that our people can return to their African Spirituality that was demonised by the ruthless Europeans who captured and forced our fore- parents into their false religions which can never set our people free. The white man’s god is not the same one that our African people called on. Our fore-parents were always a spiritual people and not a religious people. Africa is on the rise again and many African countries are taking back their land from these thieves. Bishop, you do not represent African people. You continue to teach our people the way of white supremacy and that is why we cannot rise as a people, unless we break away from this religious bondage, which keep us looking up to the clouds for a white man’s return to save us. That will never happen and you know it. You need to be delivered from your own bondage. There is nothing about peace and deliverance that you can give to people.

Bishop I humbly suggest that you research the part the church played in slavery.

Is this Bishop for real? God will not bless Charles Savarin or Skerrit because Jehovah did not put them there, money did. So unless you are talking about the god of money, you are wasting your breath. As for peace, as long as we the people feel this election was unfair there is no peace to be had. This story doesn’t end with Skerrit as dictator and the rest of us singing cumbaya.
