Information reaching Dominica News Online (DNO) indicates that attorney-at-law, Joshua Francis, is now a patient at the Dominica China Friendship Hospital after being attacked earlier today at his residence at Belfast.
Reports are that Francis, a former parliamentarian and deputy political leader of the United Workers Party (UWP), was stabbed in the back.
Speaking to Q95 FM from the hospital moments ago, fellow-attorney-at-law Ronald Charles, reported that he had spoken to Francis who, he said, was in a stable condition.
Details of the actual alleged stabbing incident are still sketchy but DNO is following the story and will bring you more information as it becomes available.

I’m sure you saw the video and don’t tell me that if you have compassion you didn’t have a problem with the way that injured Joshua Francis or any other citizen was being handled down the steps of the building. You see Dominica is so backward, and our people like so many of all things free, that they probably never heard the term “Gurney” in the Chines hospital!
Paramedics do not transport injured patients in a Wheel Chair; although a Gurney is a wheeled stretcher used for transporting hospital patients.
The Ambulance in which patients, Francis or other should be equip with a gurney; whereas the man was stabbed in his back he should be transported lying flat!
In the modern world the patients bed is similar to a gurney, and it is choice for just in case some patients are to be move expeditiously.In Dominica they still have Iron bed left over from the British colonial days of the 1940’s oui!

We need wheelchair ramps and handicap access at all public buildings especially hospitals health centers and schools.
what baffles me, is that, this is a newly constructed supposed modern clinic, yet something as basic as a ramp to facilitate wheelchair access is not available…

I hope Joshua recovers quickly and that the perpetrator be apprehended and dealt with thoroughly. Violence should never be condoned.

Stabbed at home, the clothes he wearing look like something suitable for bed. Could this be a crime passionele as the French call it? To be honest most dominicans wear less when at home. he has on shorts and a t shirt.
So the health facility is not accessible to persons with disabilities? Access is risky for patients and facilitators when you have to carry a wheelchair up or down stairs.
There is no other way for me to describe our people and country, except to say we; all of us Dominicans are indeed a bunch of horrible people!
