Prime Minister and Minister for Finance and Investment, Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit will present the 2022/2023 national budget at the First Meeting of the Third Session of the Tenth Parliament on Tuesday, 26th July, 2022.
As is customary at the start of a new parliamentary session, the President of Dominica, His Excellency, Charles A. Savarin will deliver an address.
The proceedings will be broadcast live via the Government Information Service (GIS) and the Dominica Broadcasting Service (DBS).
Two more ‘moon faces’. All of them DLP ministers. How comes? Are they being paid to much? Why are they getting so fat?
The annual budget day in Dominica is nothing but a desperate attempt to legalise the shady financial dealings of this government which, under normal circumstances would not stand up to any scrutiny by an international accountancy firm. Long story short: another farce initiated by the master of smoke screens!
Does this budget contain any clues as to the whereabouts of our CBI money, or audited accounts of Skerrits social housing program or the travel accounts of our own Flying Dutchman?

briefcase opening it Slowly , so that a few lies don’t escape . When you finish telling those lie i hope you will sit and listen to the opposition leader respond to the briefcase of lies . I will be listening to learn about expenditures for Geothermal Energy, excavation of Crompton Point and reduction of VAT and other excise duties to help address inflation and the current state of economic malaise on island. I will also be listening for more details regarding the purchase of DOMLEC and plans to address revenue, now that the EU is aggressively moving against Citizenship by Investment. I want to hear more about inputs into agriculture. So, my ears will be glued to the nation’s station to hear the details from Skerro and company.
Since we are on the subject ‘Budget 2022’. We recently went through companies house website in London and found numerous companies established around 2013 and dissolved approx. 3 years later. All these companies, even though having had different names all had one thing in common, a Director who used to be the girl friend of Dominicas big man. There is only one plausible reason for establishing a company that never traded and was dissolved shortly afterwards: all these ‘companies’ were able to open various bank accounts with the certificates of incorporation from companies house. Why would somebody from Dominica require so many bank accounts in Europes largest financial centre, I hear you asking. Well, YOUR guess is as good as MINE. By the way, we found all these accounts still open, but we obviously never managed to obtain further details from the banks in question. Nevertheless we thought this info might add a bit of spice to Budget Day 22 and hopefully some questions being asked.
Very interesting? All along I knew that this ‘former’ girlfriend was involved in shady business. She spends a fair amount of time here in London. I actually logged on to Companies House and found the info you are talking about. None of these companies ever filled accounts which means they never traded. Very fishy, very fishy indeed!

I’ll be listening. I want to see if there will be additional funds provided for putting a stop to the unacceptably high amount of child sexual abuse in the country, the completion of the Good hope to Rosalie road and the road from Ravin Cork to Canfield. I’ll also be listening to hear accounting for and an acknowledgement that the report from Dennis Byron which our tax dollars paid for is in hand.

I’ve previously said so many times that every word or action of this opportunistic con artist is meticulously calculated to dupe the gullible and the unsuspecting.

Every budget that he has presented doesn’t worth the paper it is written on. They are a colossal waste of the country’s finance resources.

What qualifications does Melissa have to be a parliamentarian? Is it the designer outfits she sports in public? The woman doesn’t even possess minimum academic qualifications to be a store clerk.
She has no ministerial portfolio; CANNOT represent the country in any high level discussion regionally nor internationally; but living high off the hog with her red snout in the financial trough of the country.
With under-achievers such as Melissa, the once revered Parliament of Dominica, has been reduced to an useless instrument. Little surprise, most of the times, in there sounds like a mad house overrun by overly aggressive inmates.

This is the unadulterated TRUTH. After every budget presentation for the last decade, the economic woes in the country worsens. More citizens descend below the poverty line swelling this group to unprecedented numbers.
Dominica needs an astute and visionary leader to escape this calamitous state of affairs that has gripped the country for the past two decades under Roosevelt’s internship.
