This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Dominica Cadet Corps (DCC) since its revival in 2001.
A press release from the organization shared that to honor this significant milestone, it has planned an extensive week-long series of events aimed at highlighting the positive impact of the DCC on young people and the broader development of Dominican society.
These activities are scheduled from March 22 to March 28, 2026, with the goal of informing the public and attracting potential cadets.
The Dominica Cadet Corps, a voluntary organization with a history spanning over 116 years in the Commonwealth of Dominica, was revitalized in 2001. The organization states that since then, it has served as a dynamic platform for youth seeking paramilitary training and skills development. It added that it has played a vital role in fostering discipline, leadership, and community service among young Dominicans.
The week’s events commenced on Sunday, March 22, with a church service at the Roman Catholic Church, followed by a Cadet Day Parade at Saint Mary’s Academy Grounds, which was inspected by Her Excellency, the President of Dominica, Sylvanie Burton.
On Monday, March 23, activities include school visits within the Central District and a radio program to engage the community further.
Tuesday, March 24, features a segment on DBS titled “Did You Know,” alongside another school visit in the North East Division and a panel discussion involving media personnel, details of which are still to be confirmed.
The schedule for Wednesday, March 25, includes a school visit to the North East Division, participation in a radio program on Q95, and a courtesy call to Her Excellency the President of the Commonwealth of Dominica.
Thursday, March 26, involves a courtesy call to the Prime Minister of Dominica, Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit, and Minister of Youth, Hon. Gretta Roberts, a radio program on Kairi FM, and the observance of Cadet Uniform Day.
The activities on Friday, March 27, will see a cadet parade through the city of Roseau, complemented by an exhibition and barbecue at Police Headquarters in the afternoon.
The week concludes on Saturday, March 28, with a cadet exhibition and car wash at Police Headquarters (Immigration Parking Lot), as well as a community bake sale, providing further opportunities for public engagement and showcasing the efforts of the Cadet Corps.

Bon twavay DCC, you are the future of our Nation!
You represent the best of our young people: a patriotic, co-operative, virtuous and moral Dominican youth. A Youth full of values and compromise, far away from the trending decadent and dissolving violence of Gangs which comes from the US!
Keep marching for our country with that good esprit de corps!
