
Dominica Cadet Corps says that it is pleased to serve as the host for the 2025 Caribbean Cadet Camp, an event that will bring together over 160 young cadets and officers from various countries in the region. The camp aims to promote discipline, regional cooperation, and leadership development among youth, the Youth Development Division said in a statement.
According to the YDD, the official opening ceremony took place on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at the Geneva Playing Field in Grandbay. During the event, the Honourable Gretta Roberts, Minister for Education and Youth Development, delivered remarks emphasizing Dominica’s dedication to nurturing leadership qualities among its young people. Participants in the camp include cadet units from Jamaica, Montserrat, Antigua & Barbuda, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Guyana, St. Lucia, Barbados, the British Virgin Islands, Trinidad & Tobago, and Dominica itself.
Highlights of the camp’s schedule include:
– On Friday, July 25, 2025, a Route March will be held through the streets of Roseau, showcasing regional cadets marching in unison to demonstrate discipline and solidarity with the local community.
– The 38th Association of Caribbean Cadet Commandants (ACCC) Conference will be officially inaugurated. This important gathering brings together commandants from across the Caribbean region.
– On Sunday, July 27, 2025, a Church Parade and Route March are planned in Grand Bay, providing another opportunity for the public to observe the discipline and coordination of the region’s young cadets.
– The camp will conclude on Saturday, August 2, 2025, with a Closing Parade at the Geneva Playing Field, signifying the end of two weeks filled with leadership training, cultural exchange, and personal development for the participants.
