Caribbean Development Bank appoints new president

Daniel Best

The Caribbean Development Bank’s (CDB) Board of Governors has officially elected Mr. Daniel Best from Barbados as the institution’s seventh President.

He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Durham, England, in addition to a Master’s in Construction Engineering and Management and a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from the University of the West Indies at St. Augustine, Trinidad. Best also holds certification as a Project Management Professional.

Best possesses extensive experience and a comprehensive grasp of the development issues and potential within the region. With over two decades of professional experience concentrated in development finance, policy formulation, and infrastructure investment, he is ideally equipped to guide the CDB into a new era of significant regional change.

In his role as President, Best will direct the strategic initiatives of the Bank, prioritizing its essential goals of alleviating poverty and tackling inequality, while promoting inclusive and sustainable development. His leadership will seek to enhance the Bank’s existing contributions while responding to new challenges and prospects presented by an evolving global environment.
