Demonstrating a journey driven by intention and connection, Caribbean residents Engel and Amanda Jones, along with their three children aged 16, 11, and 5, recently completed an extensive road trip across the United States.
The Trinidadian couple shared with DNO that over the course of six days, they traveled through 21 states, with an additional day spent visiting Alabama, bringing their total to 22 states covered in just over a week.
According to them, the expedition extended beyond mere travel; it was a purposeful endeavor aimed at fostering family bonds, literacy, and cultural appreciation, “To invest in what matters most—our children—by creating a journey that blends books, new places, and possibilities, through acts of love that speak louder than words.”
Rooted in the desire to prioritize meaningful experiences with their children—by integrating visits to literary and cultural landmarks into their journey, their guiding principle was to demonstrate how acts of love and intentionality can create lasting memories and inspire others.
Throughout the trip, Amanda Jones provided daily narration, sharing insights and reflections on their experiences.
Their itinerary included notable stops at prominent libraries, museums, and historic sites such as the Savannah Public Library in Georgia, the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., and the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences.
Each location was selected to stimulate curiosity, promote learning, and honor the power of storytelling.
This family adventure builds upon a previous commitment made in 2018, when Engel and Amanda traveled across 48 U.S. states and parts of Canada. During that earlier journey, they report that they conducted nearly 350 face-to-face interviews for Engel’s global podcast, #12minconvos. While their children were not part of that initial experience, they now play a central role in this ongoing family mission.
Having completed visits to 22 states, the Jones family has plans to continue their journey, aiming to cover the remaining 28 states. They also intend to involve their audience in their travels, emphasizing that dreams and aspirations are achievable with dedication and purpose.
As part of their ongoing project, the family is preparing to release a series of short, documentary-style videos on their YouTube channel, Family Faith In Action.
These videos will feature highlights from each day, interviews, personal reflections, and narration by Amanda Jones, all designed to inspire viewers and share their story of love, exploration, and legacy.

Please be extra extra careful especially when traveling through the deep south! Nothing has changed! Avoid asking for directions! Avoid using a map. Make sure your GPS is working! Always have enough food and drink in your cooler. Enjoy!
Calvin, thanks for your concern. Appreciate you putting this here. This trip was soooooooooo much fun. Our children are excited for the next. We will be sharing parts of the journey.
No condemnation here. This is a classic case of “whatever floats one’s boat.” I have no idea about the family’s financial situation as that is strictly their business.
As long as there is no child abuse taking place and all members of the family are safe and generally well adjusted, I see no problems with this family and their state hopping adventure.
I wish them great enjoyment, safety and peace in all their travels!!!
Thanks from the entire family.
There is a lot tied to why we do what we do. My wife and I had the opportunity to visit all 48 states and Canada in 80 days. We did not take our two sons at that time. Our sons are older now and did amazingly well on this journey. There minds have been expanded to what is possible.
Wow. Some people will do anything for fame and internet clout . You mean to tell me you guys so desperate that u all drag ur kids threw all that have then well tired and drained and tired. . Those kids not gonna enjoy that . Especially a 5 year old .
Parents like this are taking it to far . And the. Whe no one studying your nonesense. You guys emailing DNO and saying
“ hey look what stress we putting our kids threw dragging them hundreds of miles in 8 days so we can get internet fame “
Travelling with kids have a massive toll on the kids especially 5 year olds and you putting them through this just for internet clout and fame.
YOU GUYS NEED TO DO BETTER
Don’t put internet likes and clout before the well-being of your children
Absolute abismal
Thanks for your consideration. Our purpose for sharing this goes far beyond internet fame. Please note that our children are excited to go again. There desire to learn more has increased. Many of the books they have read and imagined about now resonates differently as reality.
Poor kiddz must be drained to high heaven . I feel sorry for them being dragged through that . 22 states in 8 days. Why would you want to put ur kids through that especially a 5 year old . Some parents just take things to far
Trust me, the children can do it plenty plenty easier than the adults, once they are being fed.
