This week, The Honourable Dr. Terrance Drew, head of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), is scheduled to visit Trinidad and Tobago for an official engagement with Prime Minister the Honourable Kamla Persad-Bissessar and her team.
Joining him will be CARICOM Secretary-General, Dr. Carla Barnett.
According to a CARICOM release, his visit aligns with the Chair’s priority on direct, in-person dialogue with regional leaders.
Last week, the Chair and Secretary-General met with the newly appointed Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Dr. the Honourable Godwin Friday, in Kingstown.
I’m wondering when the Chair will meet with the Haitian government officials. Will he apologise for his egregious remarks?
This trip to T&T by the Chairman, I re-emphasise, is all about gaining favourable publicity (propaganda) to quiet his critics about his snide comments repudiating the Haitians.
Trinidad & Tobago, with their present ‘leader’, has made it quite evident that they have already sailed. The good lady has round declared that her country does not benefit from being a member of CARICOM. This visit is to grab headlines.
