CARICOM SG congratulates Dominica’s ‘consistent’ development efforts on 47th Independence

Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretary-General Dr. Carla Barnett has acknowledged what she says is the “consistent and focused efforts” of Dominica in advancing its development goals.

In a message of congratulations sent to the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica on the occasion of the nation’s 47th Independence Anniversary today, Monday, November 3, Dr. Barnett also praised Dominica’s ongoing commitment to regional unity and integration.

“Consistent with your responsibility for Labour (including Intra-Community Movement of Skills) in the CARICOM Quasi-Cabinet, Dominica has demonstrated great leadership in moving to implement full freedom of movement as of 1 October 2025. This undertaking stands as an historic milestone in the achievement of our collective goal of integration,”said Dr Barnett.

On behalf of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), I am pleased to extend congratulations to the Government and People of the Commonwealth of Dominica as you celebrate your Forty-Seventh Anniversary of Independence.

This year’s theme, “47 Years of Progress and Purpose”, aptly captures the consistent and focused efforts the nation has made towards achieving its development objectives and in promoting sustainable development.

The Community commends Dominica’s continued dedication to the regional integration movement. Consistent with your responsibility for Labour (including Intra-Community Movement of Skills) in the CARICOM Quasi-Cabinet, Dominica has demonstrated great leadership in moving to implement full freedom of movement as of 1 October 2025. This undertaking stands as an historic milestone in the achievement of our collective goal of integration.

Prime Minister, as your nation celebrates this Anniversary of its Independence, I extend best wishes to the Government and People of the Commonwealth of Dominica for continued progress, peace, and prosperity.

    She has totally fallen for the unrelenting misinformation of this diabolical regime. Clearly, the lady is completely on enlightened about the daily hardships and suffering of the beleaguered citizens descent on Dominica.

    She most certainly has not seen the burgeoning population of vagrants aimlessly wandering the street, the exploding high unemployment rate especially among the youth; the rapid growth of inflation; the exploding cases of NCDs; the death rate out-pacing the birth rate; the exodus of young people leaving the island in droves in search of something more promising than their current circumstances.

    Lady, get yourself informed before making these spurious assertions.
