Castle Bruce man charged in connection with major drug bust granted $200,000 bail

Anthony Roberts, a resident of Castle Bruce, who was charged in connection with a recent drug bust in that village, has been granted bail for $200,000.

He appeared in a Roseau Court this week.

Roberts was arrested at Castle Bruce last week following the seizure of 696.36 kilograms or 1,532 pounds of cocaine and 37 pounds of cannabis on a farm in that area on Friday, April 12, 2024.

The street value of the cocaine is EC$18,801,720.00, while the cannabis has a value of EC$74,000.

Samuel Jacob of Castle Bruce stood as surety for Roberts.

As part of his bail conditions, Roberts is required to surrender his travel documents to the court.

The preliminary inquiry into the matter is set for September 13, 2024, at Castle Bruce.

Hello and good morning my people. First I must thanks all the law enforcement officers who participated and prevented this drugs from getting to our citizens. So thank you officers. The only concerns I have is that, at. What point do we say no bail where one must remain in custody pending trial. It’s seems like crime pays because criminals are just being bailed out to commit more crimes.
    O bail for:
    Murder
    Rape
    Kidnapping
    First degree child abuse
Felony possession or sale of drugs
    First degree Assault
    Aggravated sexual abuse
    Possession of a loaded firearm.

The bail sum does not represent the risk the population was exposed to. The people were cheated. The police was cheated of their hard work. The legal system appears compromised in this one. This sends alarm bells ringing like crazy. Somebody wayyyy bigger and with hands in the legal process than the average person is very likely involved. Mr. Police Chief go to work because somebody is crooking the system and an investigation is warranted immediately. Take down that ring of criminals before its too late

Despite the hardship because of No jobs, No governance, bad leadership etc. etc. these so-called deadly farmers are making the issues worse. What the heck you are doing in DRUGS. It was a big village secret for most but unfortunately not for all. Lock him up and salvage the keys. To hell with drugs. The surety should be investigated also.

For such colossal drug busts, bail for the traffickers should be set at the value of the confiscated illegal substance.

If this huge amount of cocaine were to get on the streets of Dominica, can you imagine the large number of young human zombies there would be roaming the streets aimlessly.

Cocaine fries the brain and render the users useless and a burden to society

Cocaine doesnt work like that. Are you saying that if there were truck loads of cocaine availe on the streets that you would be snorting and cooking up? Most likely not. However, we do need to alwasy keep it away from children. However, its already widely available in the streets, Why dont we have more human zombies? Ill definitely say that is NOT because there is a shortage of cocaine. Its because people who are not into that wont be into it. People who want to be into it, will.

That is all the do nothing people can do,say things about people they do not even know, gossip, gossip, gossip. The man does not sell cocaine,he does not sniff cocaine, the man doesn’t even smoke weed.Anton Anthony Roberts is from Morne Georgine Mahaut and not Castle Bruce. The police know who the real drug dealers are.We all know that possession is in law.Just imagine a blue saying, the police teargas a SLEEPING village in their bed.Another blue saying,$6.4 billion is missing but it is in a foreign bank in the name of MMCE,Anthony Haden and Skerrit.Ugly say $6.4 billion is missing but he know where it is.The only man who know where is and it is still missing,is Ugly Lenny.
