The Central Co-operative Credit Union Ltd (CCCUL) will hold its 16th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Goodwill Parish Hall today.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:00 PM.
“The Board of Directors will report to the membership the achievement of the society during the financial year ending December 31, 2023,” General Manager of the CCCUL, Aylmer Irish said. “Some of the major highlights include an increase in the membership by 806, increase in accumulated surplus by 1.13 million dollars, and of course, of great interest to the members would be the surplus of $1,296,453, compared to $817,662, in the previous year of 2022.”
According to Mr. Irish, that is an increase of just over $478,000 or 58.57 percent.
Furthermore, he revealed that the loans portfolio also increased by 7.64 percent.
“Generally we can report that the year 2023 was a successful year and we look forward to greater things in 2024,” Mr. Irish stated.
Members of the CCCUL are encouraged to attend and participate in today’s meeting.
The CCCUL was registered as a newly formed credit union on July 2, 2007, on the amalgamation of the St. Alphonsus and Portsmouth credit unions. The amalgamation which grew from the strategic and long-term planning of these two strong credit unions brought together the second and third largest credit unions on the island.
