The Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force (CDPF) has appointed its first woman to act as Assistant Commissioner of Police.
She has been identified as Antonia Moses who has served as a police officer for over 30 years.
According to Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police, Joeffrey James 25 officers of the CDPF have been promoted and out of these, 4 are confirmed at higher ranks and 21 appointed to act.
“To be a little more specific with reference to these appointments, we have Antonia Moses acting in the position of Assistant Commissioner of Police, Chauser James acting in the position of Superintendent of Police, Inspector Delvin Jno Lewis acting in the position of Assistant Superintendent of Police, Inspector Lindon Timothy acting in the position of Assistant Superintendent of Police and we have 8 inspectors that are acting, 13 sergeants acting and 2 confirmations at the rank of Corporals and 13 acting Corporals,” James explained.
Furthermore, he revealed that the four officers who have been confirmed for high rank positions are Inspector Erickson Jno Baptiste who moved from the rank of Sergeant of Police to Inspector of Police, Corporal Daril Damier was promoted from the position of Corporal of Police to Sergeant of Police, in addition to two confirmed Corporals of Police.
There are only looking for first female. She is not doing to further or better the police force. asking this individual for information or how to obtain information the individual is responding to go ask the person for permission to get the information.
She is requesting to go find the officer or former officer and seek the officers permission for information to be released.

The Assistant Commissioner of Police should be the best officer for the job. Whether a male or female is inconsequential.
The main reasons for the dismal performance of the CDPF can be attributed to questionable recruitment, lack of proper and ongoing training, and political interference.
The appointment of a female to the hierarchy no matter how brilliant and capable she may be, will not make a significant difference unless the aforementioned problems are
rectified.
If Antonia Moses can act Assistant Commissioner,then in my days Philsbert Alfred,Duke Saverine,Robertson Laurent,Mathew Cuffy,Cuffy Williams,Patrick son Albert,Gabriel St.Jean and Kelvin Albert would be Field Marshalls and 4 star generals.

With all those promotions why is the force still operating as a broken and politically compromised organisation?
The biggest problem is top leadership. It’s making a mockery of what a professional police force should be.
Additionally, any police force in the world that is under the thumb of corrupt politicians cannot pass the test of professionalism. Let’s see if the lady in question will make a difference.

Well said! The mere shifting of rotten characters in an organisation will not automatically result in improvements. Need to rid the institution of all the rotten apples. In this specific case make the police force an apolitical body. Partisan politics corrupts and corrodes.
Lots of “acting,” but I see this as a positive sign upwards for these folks and a loud message by the police leadership to aspiring police officers: You can make a career as a professional officer. The appointments will come.

The police force needs a comprehensive overhaul. New independent recruits and serious, hardworking and quick-witted personnel. Nothing short of this will do.

The CDPF acts at the behest of Roosevelt. They operate like his maids. They are invertebrates. Spineless as a worm!
So therevis Hollywood, Hollywood, and now Domiwood. there sure are a lot of actors in the police force. The last movie “the choksi smuggle” ain’t finished yet. let’s see what performance these new actors will present.
