Chief and Deputy Chief of Police to receive vehicle upgrade

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit speaking at last week ceremony

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has announced an upgrade to the vehicles used by the Chief of Police and Deputy Chief of Police.

“I also believe that in Dominica, I think we need to upgrade the vehicles assigned to the Chief of Police and the Deputy Chief of Police,” he said during a handing over ceremony of six vehicles to the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force (CDPF) last week.

“So I think we need to make special arrangements for the Deputy Chief and the Chief especially when they are attending official functions…” He continued. “I will assist with that and ensure that they get appropriate vehicles, fitting of the offices that they hold.”

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister said that it is important that every police officer maintains a high level of integrity and that they do not compromise themselves.

“Having a gun doesn’t mean that you are safe, and if you compromise the security of the state, you are compromising your own security and that of your family,” he remarked.

Therefore, Skerrit noted, it is important to maintain a high level of standards and integrity, “and ensure that we do not find ourselves on the wrong side of the law or ourselves perpetrating…illegal activities.”

“When you are out, your [comrades] ought to be very comfortable that each of you have each other’s back, that you are on the side of the law, and you are here to serve and protect,” he stated.

The prime minister needs to study what the following two terms in Finance / Accounting mean:

    1. Return On Investment [ROI]
    2. Opportunity Cost!

Sadly, his finance minister cannot even help him, he is a medical doctor.

That is all I will say about this.

I wish the government would also focus on getting some ambulances and garbage trucks too.

The misplaced priority should not surprise you. It has been going on for 25 years.
Haven’t you seen it in full splendour at election time?

All that money for just two votes, what a joke. It is not in the interest of Skeritt or the DLP to call elections during a confirmation process that has been mandated by law. So buying two police votes is definitely not a indication of election. After the confirmation that is the time……

This is common in ALL dictatorships around the world. The dictator ensures that the heads of the armed forces (soldiers, police, military personnel) are treated especially well. They are lavished with luxury at the expense of the State. This is to buy their unwavering loyalty for life.

General election seems to be imminent. The armed stone throwing bandits (police) will play and pivotal role, if necessary, to intimidate and quiet and disquiet that may arise during the ‘silly season’ because of the shenanigans by the incumbent, cheating regime.

Who pays the piper calls the tune. These guys bruise their knees for the habitual Liar.

Police chief and deputy police chief do not need upgraded vehicles, those guys sit in their office from 08.00 to 16.00 hrs doing nothing.Upgraded vehicles are for undercover cops and traffic department. The Dominica traffic department is the worse in the Caribbean.Discover Dominica is occupying one block of reserve parking, every day of the week,on Great Marlborough street, and people who are paying licence cannot get to park.Discover Dominica is not paying a cent for everyday reserve parking on the main PUBLIC road, even Discover Dominica cleaner has reserve parking. And the police are doing nothing about the situation.Having regards to all the circumstances the traffic department does not need upgraded vehicles.

I see someone is finally awakening from their deep slumber and calling a “spade a spade” papa. You can never be wrong when you decide to be a Dcan first above all political BS like calling yourself a poto! Some will always disagree but deep down inside they will respect your position.

Look Skerrit talking about high level of integrity. Papa Bondieu! Skerrit you of all people?
So when honourable Lennox Linton had you to pay to the treasury endless thousands of $$$$$$$$ for garbage bin BOBOL, and fertilizer BOBOL, you had no integrity? What about the accounting of our CBI funds? Does the idiot know the meaning of integrity? When police offices are allegedly involved in kidnapping, where have their integrity gone? When you and Tony Astaphan tried to jail Honourable Linton after you all made public your IPO information, where was your integrity? Where was your integrity when in 2017, you FALSELY accused Linton et al of a coup? This buffoon, and accomplished idiot, speaks a lot of trash and garbage to people like it’s a crowd of drunken labourites with the devils trumpet he is addressing.
So dam Shameless. You are the Prime Minister of a very very very very very corrupt DLP. Corrupt leaders deserve jail.
