Congratulatory message on the election of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV

To: His Lordship, Bishop Kendrick J. Forbes and the Catholic Congregation of the Diocese of Roseau, Commonwealth of Dominica

The Dominica Freedom Party extends warm and heartfelt congratulations to His Lordship Bishop Kendrick J. Forbes and the entire Catholic Congregation of the Diocese of Roseau on this joyful and speedy succession to the Papacy of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV.

This moment again marks a significant milestone not only for the global Catholic Church but also for all people of faith and goodwill who look to the Holy See for moral guidance, spiritual leadership, and advocacy for justice and peace.

We recognize the pivotal role of the Catholic Church in the Commonwealth of Dominica and its unwavering commitment to education, social justice, peace, the dignity of work, and the care for the most vulnerable. The election of Pope Leo XIV inspires renewed hope and calls upon all of us to recommit ourselves to the values of compassion, integrity, unity, and service to others.

We join with the people of the Diocese of Roseau and the universal Church in prayerful solidarity as Pope Leo XIV begins his pontificate. May his leadership inspire deeper commitment to service, mercy, and truth—values that transcend all political, religious, ethnic and cultural boundaries.

May God bless Pope Leo XIV, and may His Lordship Bishop Forbes and the faithful in Dominica and also globally, continue to be guided by grace and purpose in this new chapter of the Church’s journey as His Holiness embarks on this sacred mission.
With every blessing and highest regard,

In faith, unity, and service to humanity
