Controversy erupts over anti-gay campaign at Antigua airport

Signage in V.C. Bird International Airport

Uproar emerged on Tuesday in neighbouring Antigua and Barbuda, following the decision to allow CitizenGO, a prominent anti-gay organization, to launch an advertising campaign at V.C. Bird International Airport.

The timing coincides with the arrival of delegates for the Organization of American States (OAS) General Assembly in Antigua this week, raising concerns among various groups.

The advertisements, which include both digital and printed formats, have been prominently displayed in the airport’s arrivals area, attracting widespread criticism from both local and international observers.

Many are voicing their objections to the messaging, arguing that it directly contradicts the OAS’s fundamental principles of equality and inclusion.

Critics have labeled the campaign a “national disgrace,” and there is increasing scrutiny regarding the approval process of such controversial content.

Human rights advocates caution that these ads could severely impact Antigua and Barbuda’s reputation on the global stage, particularly as the country hosts a major summit focused on human rights issues.

The backlash against CitizenGO’s campaign underscores the tensions surrounding LGBTQ+ rights and the broader implications of such rhetoric in regions historically resistant to equality.

When one has 365 desirable beaches that generate billion$ and still accepts aid from these NG0’s, it reflects corruption, so one day is for paying the piper. But, woke has become a buzz word of white supremacy to bunch Blacks and gays together to serve their purpose.
However, now that Trump is there it’s time to show your anti- gay stance in this age of population control that targets our people with deadly precision.

” following the decision to allow…” I am just fed up with poor or maybe deliberate reporting!! Am I to accept that this seasoned journalist, living in Antigua doesn’t know WHO took the decision ?? If unavailable, then delay the publication until known and in so doing, the reader is better equipped to form an opinion. The information presented here reeks of sensationalism given our rejection of the issue dealt with.

Shermain Bique-Charles is so one-sided in her writing that even the blind can see she is supporting the practice of Homosexuality and Lesbianism, which God Almighty calls an “”” Abomination “””(Leviticus 18:22). In the New Testament Paul the apostle said,
“The unrighteous (Homosexuals and Sodomites) shall not inherit the kingdom of God” (1 Corinthians 6:9).
The lady had nothing good to say about CitizensGO and nothing bad to write about LGBTQ+ZOBSLV etc etc.

Antigua and Dominica two deadwood leaders are the Bonnie and Clyde of the Caribbean. They are best known for their controversy, toxicity and gross incompetence.

Both have done it reputable damage to the image of their countries. Just go on Gastonia Facebook page and read the most unbecoming and nastiest vulgarity he posted about his political opponents.

I’m not a supporter of this alternative lifestyle. What consenting adults do behind closed doors is none of my business.

Hot debate. What do you think? Thumb up 5 Thumb down 11

The “consenting adults” thing is old news my guy. They are trying to indoctrinate CHILDREN now. They are trying to force people to accept this lifestyle. They are elevating these sick lifestyle in media, government etc. Biden put a MAN dressed as a woman as assisstant HEALTH secretary which gave that MAN authority over issues like allowing “puberty blocking hormone treatment” to be used on kids to twist their perception of their gender. We already took the first step here with that high court ruling that essentially decriminalized homosexuality. If we don’t take a stand like that group in Antigua we’ll be at the transgender stage soon

See this is why I can’t take guys like you seriously. You’re always on here pontificating trying to sound intelligent but you are always completely uninformed or ignorant of contemporary issues

“What consenting adults do behind closed doors is none of my business.”

In general, we tend to live and let live and for many decades this was the prevailing attitude in the EU, Canada, and the US. But a cancer, left untreated spreads. So now the residents of California and other states live in a place where the state will take away your children should you object to the public school “transitioning their gender.”

CitizenGO is right. Support them in their efforts to preserve the traditional culture of the islands.

Imagine we live in a world where rejecting sodomy and other forms of sexual perversion is considered a “national disgrace”. The only disgrace is that there are people who engage in this disgusting behavior and that they are trying their best to force this degenerate culture on other countries.
