Dominica’s Creole Heartbeat, a platform dedicated to promoting Creole music and heritage through cultural media, has received an official invitation to join the Music Tourism Convention 2025. Scheduled to take place in Anguilla from November 4 to 6, 2025, at the Aurora Resort, the Music Tourism Convention is described as a global forum for examining the synergy between music and travel.

Representing Creole Heartbeat, Creole & Cultural Ambassador Leroy “Wadix” Charles will participate in the convention, said a press release from the organization. He will be engaging in discussions regarding the influence of both traditional and modern music in shaping effective tourism development.

With the international music tourism sector reportedly valued at over $93 billion USD in 2024 and expected to increase by 20–30% over the next five years, according to UN Tourism, the event offers a pivotal platform to foster dialogue on how cultural expression and creativity drive sustainable tourism expansion.

“Being invited to the Music Tourism Convention is a recognition of the work Creole Heartbeat has been doing to celebrate and internationalize our Creole heritage. It’s also an opportunity to build bridges and ensure that the Creole voice is represented in this global dialogue,” stated Ambassador Charles.

Throughout the three-day event, attendees will have access to panel discussions, keynote addresses, and networking opportunities. A key session titled “Integrating Traditional Music Into Tourism Strategies ” is described by Creole Heartbeat as “closely [aligning] with [its ]mission.”

Creole Heartbeat also said that the invitation highlights the increasing acknowledgment of its contributions to cultural media and its significance within the broader dialogue on music and tourism worldwide.
