Cricket West Indies (CWI) has officially unveiled the 15-player roster for the upcoming T20 International series against Nepal, scheduled to take place at Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the UAE from September 27 to 30.
Akeal Hosein, a prominent member of the T20I leadership group, has been appointed as the captain of the squad, shared a CWI release. The team features six players who are set to make their debut in this series. Rayon Griffith will serve as the Head Coach, leading the Team Management Unit, while veteran former West Indies Head Coach Ottis Gibson will act as the fast-bowling consultant.
Regarding the importance of this series, Cricket West Indies Director of Cricket, Miles Bascombe, expressed:
“This series against Nepal is another important step in broadening the horizons of West Indies cricket. It allows our senior men’s team to engage with a passionate emerging nation while providing invaluable match experience in different conditions.”
“Beyond the immediate competition, this tour speaks to our long-term vision of developing a squad that is adaptable, resilient and ready for global challenges. Taking West Indies cricket into new territories and against new opposition also helps us grow the game, inspire new fans, and strengthen the brand of West Indies cricket worldwide,” he added.
This historic series is a part of the team’s preparatory activities ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup in 2026, which will be hosted in the subcontinent.
