The selection of the West Indies Under-19 Men’s team has been announced by Cricket West Indies (CWI). CWI shared that the team will host Sri Lanka’s Under-19 squad in a seven-match Youth One Day International series scheduled from August 25 to September 16 in Antigua.
“We are delighted to welcome the Sri Lanka Under-19 team to the Caribbean for what promises to be a highly competitive and rewarding series. Encounters like these are invaluable to our cricket pathway, as they expose our young players to different styles of play, varying conditions and the intensity that comes with international opposition,” Miles Bascombe, CWI’s Director of Cricket.
He emphasized that the tour offers a growth opportunity for both teams, enabling players to refine their skills, boost their confidence, and gain insight into the standards needed for future success.
“Hosting Sri Lanka reinforces the strong bonds we share across the global cricketing community and we look forward to an engaging and fruitful series that will aid the development of both sets of players,” added Bascombe.
The highly anticipated series will feature the Caribbean’s rising cricket stars, with Barbadian Joshua Dorne leading the squad against Sri Lanka at two of the island’s premier venues.
The first four matches will be held at Coolidge Cricket Ground, with the series concluding at the iconic Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium.
Dorne, an energetic batsman, recently captained his team to the Rising Stars Under-19 championship, earning MVP honors after scoring a tournament-high 328 runs.
He captains a well-rounded squad that combines powerful batting and skilled bowling, assembled from the top performers of the recently finished regional Under-19 tournament.
This series is a pivotal step in preparing the team for the 2026 ICC Men’s Under-19 World Cup in Zimbabwe and Namibia next January. CWI stated that it also highlights its ongoing dedication to youth development by giving young talents valuable international experience against strong opposition.
Later this year, the regional team will participate in a tri-series with England and the USA to further hone their skills ahead of the global tournament.
Sri Lanka’s Under-19 squad, known for producing international stars, will arrive in Antigua on August 25 for five days of preparation before the first match.
All seven fixtures will start at 9:30 AM and finish at 5:00 PM, offering cricket enthusiasts full days of exciting action.
Fans can watch live streams on Windies Cricket’s YouTube channel, while real-time scores for each match will be accessible through the www.windiescricket.com Match Centre.

Sri Lanka’s team will depart on Tuesday, September 16, marking the end of the tour.
