Dominica Authority (DDA) CEO Marva Williams is encouraging visitors for the 2025 Carnival celebrations, stating that traveling to Dominica is just a flight or ferry away.
She spoke during the official launching ceremony of Carnival 2025 on Friday night. The activities are expected to begin on January 18, 2025, with the highly anticipated opening parade in Roseau.
“Getting to Dominica for these incredible events and the numerous other fringe events [has] never been easier,” she said. “I am thrilled to announce a range of travel options to make sure everyone [joins] in on the fun.”
She continued, “American Airlines offers daily direct flights from Miami, and United Airlines will begin flying daily from New Jersey on February 15, 2025. Sunrise Airways, LIAT 2020, Winair, Caribbean Airlines, and InterCaribbean Airways also offer excellent service throughout the Caribbean.”
In September 2024, the upcoming United Airlines direct flight from Newark International Airport was announced, to coincide with the 2025 Carnival season, aiming to increase visitor access. It will mark the second UA direct flight from the US. The first being from Miami to Dominica, as of December 2021.
Furthermore, Williams mentioned FRS Express des Îles, which provides ferry services from the nearby islands of St. Lucia, Martinique, and Guadeloupe.
“When you are traveling from the United States, the Caribbean, or further afield, getting to Dominica for Mas Domnik is just a flight or ferry away,” she stated.
