Deported American missionary, Jason Grogg, said he is returning to Dominica to seek justice which he said is a right that protected by the Constitution of Dominica.
He told Dominica News Online about his intent to come to the island to face customs charges that were laid against him.
“Yes I will be coming back,” he said. “I have a legal right to seek justice, protected by the constitution of Dominica and declared by an even higher standard in God’s Word.”
Grogg and his family were deported from Dominica in early March after they were deemed “prohibited and undesirable immigrants” whose presence on the island would be detrimental and unlawful.
He had become embroiled in gun and customs of offense while in Dominica.
When he was deported, Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Sherma Dalrymple issued a “notice of discontinuance” to the court ending all matters involving him and the state.
However, it appears that the customs charges against him were not dismissed because Dominica News Online has received confirmation that the matter will be heard in Magistrate’s Court Number 2 in Roseau on June 4.
Grogg was arrested at the Douglas Charles Airport on those charges on May 4, 2023, en route to Barbados for three days to have a meeting with the US Consulate over his previous gun-related charges for which he was fined $25,000.
The allegations are that he imported into Dominica, certain items including a vehicle that he allegedly still had in his possession, at the time of his arrest, under the guise of the nonprofit group, Feed My Sheep (FMS) which exempted him from payment of duties at the port.
He was subsequently slapped with eight charges including false declaration and evasion of customs duties.
Since he was deported, Grogg faces the possibility of being arrested when arriving in Dominica, something he is cognizant of.
“So they can arrest me and we can all go before the High Court to see who is in the right,” he told Dominica News Online. “I don’t just fight this wickedness for myself but for my wife, my kids and everyone who is affected both foreign and domestic.”
Grogg always vowed that he would return to Dominica saying it is God’s will and that the island is now his home. However, his upcoming visit is going to be a short one since he said in a video posted to his YouTube channel that he would be arriving on June 3 at 1:35 pm and returning to the US on June 8.
Send back on the same plan he came!!!
Please advise the Dominica Government, NOT to allow this man back in the country if he was legally deported.
Has any Dominican, deported by the U.S. Government come back and tell the U.S. that “I have a legal right to seek justice, protected by the constitution of” the United States “and declared by an even higher standard in God’s Word.” Please don’t be carried away by the “God’s Word” claim. Please Dominica Government, Stand Your Grounds!! And Don’t be frightened by this “God Word” claim”. Don’t.
Even using “God’s Word” as a reason? Please pass this message to the Government. Please.
deport upon arrival. any one of you try that in the u.s. people need start showing these entitled mf that we don’t play that in the Caribbean. we don’t want your poison here Jim Jones
I hope the court do not bow down to pressure from this supposedly man of God who thinks he is above our laws. You come to our country so you abide by our laws. I hope he gets hit with the full extent of our laws, have the book thrown at him and get a nice prison sentenced in Stock Farm. Imagine a Dominican getting deported from America and enter with a deportation status without being locked up immediately.
When one is deported from the US, they cannot re enter the country legally by way of customs and immigration. They can only re enter the country illegally by crossing the borders.
Mr Grogg should not be permitted to enter the country when he arrives on June 3 and should be placed on the next flight back to the US. These Americans do not respect the laws of sovereign countries and believe they can do as they please. Mr Grogg should be told in no uncertain terms that he and his family are not welcome in Dominica. They have nothing to offer so stay in America and leave Dominica for Dominicans.
I hope God, Jesus and the customs authorties will kick this guy out. In order to empower and built fair and just secular society in Dominica, the religious nut-cases must be kept out. With Bible in hand and evil intent, such guys are dangerous.
What god Odin? You must be an African a black person who doesn’t know they are the original God. You are trying to fight him using his god, when he is fighting you using guns and his reformulated bible?
You loose before you even begin.
He should be prevented from boarding the aircraft.
that just sounds dumb. you asking for airlines be sued. If you have a ticket and necessary paperwork you can board an aircraft. the problem is being allowed entry into a country. .
