Digicel Group has become the first company in the Caribbean to be awarded the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) Corporate Ethical Procurement & Supply Kitemark, which describes itself as “the voice and standard, defining and amplifying best practice across the world.”
Digicel said via press release that this achievement places it in a group of organizations worldwide that demonstrate excellence in procurement and supply chain integrity, and is validated by independent auditing.
The award was officially presented last week during the inaugural CIPS Caribbean Conference and Awards held at the Hyatt Regency in Trinidad, where Digicel’s Procurement team accepted the honor.

Arshad Ali, Director of Group Procurement, Supply Chain & Real Estate for Digicel, emphasized the significance of this achievement, stating, “This accreditation is an important reflection of how we do business. It demonstrates the significant progress we have made in embedding ethical, transparent, and accountable procurement practices for the Group and reinforces our commitment to raising the bar for responsible sourcing and supply chain governance in the region.”
For customers and partners, DIGICEL stated that the CIPS Kitemark offers reassurance that the company operates ethically and responsibly across its entire supply chain. Reportedly, procurement decisions are guided not solely by commercial considerations but also by ethical standards, ensuring that every interaction upholds integrity and accountability. This commitment fosters fair and transparent engagement with partners, promotes clear ethical standards, and helps build long-term relationships based on trust and compliance—ultimately creating a more stable and reliable ecosystem for all stakeholders.

“This award highlights Digicel’s commitment to ethical practices, along with the continued enhancement of our ethics and compliance programmes. It also gives our customers, suppliers, and partners confidence that Digicel is committed to the highest ethical standards,” Michael Watson, Chief Compliance and Cyber Security Officer for Digicel Group noted, highlighting the importance of the award.
