The Discover Dominica Authority has officially appointed Ayodele Andrew as the new Festivals and Events Manager, starting from December 18, 2024. With a background in event management, tourism, and hospitality spanning over 20 years, Ayodele is poised to elevate the island’s notable festivals and promote Dominica as a premier cultural tourism destination.
Ayodele holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Marketing from George Brown College in Toronto, Canada, along with a diploma in Hospitality Business Management from the University of Derby in the United Kingdom. Her extensive experience includes coordinating some of the Caribbean’s most esteemed festivals, such as the World Creole Music Festival, Mas Domnik, Antigua & Barbuda Carnival, and the St. Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival. Her diverse skill set encompasses hospitality management, project oversight, and sustainable tourism practices.
In her new role, Ayodele will manage the strategic planning, execution, and promotion of Dominica’s key events. Her leadership is anticipated to boost the international profile of these festivals, further enhancing the island’s tourism landscape while preserving its cultural legacy.
“I am truly honored to take on this role at Discover Dominica Authority,” Ayodele Andrew remarked. “Festivals and events are integral to Dominica’s identity and tourism sector. I look forward to collaborating with our stakeholders to create memorable experiences that highlight our rich heritage and solidify Dominica as a leading destination for cultural tourism.”

Benoit Bardouille, Chairman of Discover Dominica Authority, shared his thoughts on the appointment: “Ayodele’s extensive experience and deep passion for tourism make her the ideal fit for this role. Her leadership will contribute to the continued success of our festivals, enhancing Dominica’s presence on the global stage and strengthening the island’s tourism sector.”
Ayodele’s arrival is timely as the Discover Dominica Authority gears up for what the organization anticipates to be an exciting year of events, with Mas Domnik on the near horizon. Under her stewardship, the Authority aims to draw tourists and showcase local talent through innovative programs and sustainability-focused initiatives.

Garbage collector go tell your BS to the Dominican people. That is whycomment you post is put in the garbage pail, pure garbage.
well, don’t you think the dominican people deserve different than a baby transport for 185 thousands instead ?!
and what about clearing the island from the garbage that is spreading all over?!
calling it the ¿Nature Island¿ should start there. have a short walk through Portsmouth……
It seems like a waste of what could be considerable talent. Dominic’s government appears to have no clear strategy for boosting tourism and is one natural disaster away from becoming another Haiti. This woman’s efforts may be doomed to fail because the government of Dominica is plagued by corruption and greed, while lacking the necessary vision to attract tourists beyond just those arriving on cruise ships. There’s a clear reason why nearly every other Caribbean island continues to outpace Dominica in tourism numbers—this failure can be traced back to Roosevelt Skerrit and the Labour Party.
What does this mean dominica 🇩🇲 gonna be the party island 🏝 of the Caribbean. What about expanding on WATO outdoor food festival , what about creative arts 🎨 festival comedy and drama
Dominica has become a ‘sewo’ country. It’s obvious that this is a deliberate strategy of the powers that be.
Things in the country are dire. Jobs and money are scarce. Many have to sleep in darkness as their utilities have been disconnected. Pipe borne water has been shut off. Christmas was bleak. Most citizens are financially embarrassed. Life for too many has become intolerable.
To divert attention from the hardships of life, the government’s plan is to create more fetes, festivals and parties. An inebriated man gets temporary relief from the misery of life.
What the people need their government to do is to incentivize the economy, attract new investments of high paying jobs so the unemployed and the working poor can lift themselves out of this perennial poverty.
Trust her hands will not be tied
