The Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) wrapped up a promotional outreach in St. Maarten from September 2 to 6, 2025. A DDA release said it provided “significant visibility and strengthening anticipation for the World Creole Music Festival (WCMF), scheduled for October 24–26, 2025.”
Part of the campaign included a press briefing held on September 3 at Infinity Restaurant within Oyster Bay Resort, which was broadcast live across select media channels in both St. Maarten and Dominica. The event reportedly showcased Dominica’s key attractions, highlighted features of the WCMF, and included appearances by artists from the festival based in St. Maarten.
Beyond the press conference, DDA representatives participated in multiple interviews on prominent radio stations and digital platforms, said the release.
Community involvement was also a major focus. On September 5, the “Dominica Night” event at Tj Cassava Coal Pot reportedly drew a lively crowd with a live performance from Rohie, one of the WCMF artists. This free cultural event offered an immersive experience of Dominican music and strengthened the festival’s regional appeal.
Led by Public Relations and Communications Specialist Monelle Alexis and Marketing Executive Markerah George, the promotional efforts involved active engagement with media, partners, and the public throughout the week.
“St. Maarten embraced Dominica with warmth and enthusiasm,” Alexis remarked.“The response from both media and the public demonstrates the strong regional connection to our culture and the growing excitement for the World Creole Music Festival.”
The DDA expressed gratitude to the media outlets, tourism collaborators, artists, and the people of St. Maarten for their support. The authority says it plans to continue its regional promotional initiatives in the upcoming weeks to encourage more visitors to visit Dominica.
