The Dominica Police Force announced that on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, law enforcement officers carried out an operation resulting in the apprehension of Paul Albert Jolly.

Jolly is an adult male from Grand Bay, also known by the alias DJ MJ, who resides in Jimmit.

The press release indicated that the arrest was made in connection with allegations that on Friday, August 22, 2025, while performing in Roseau, Mr. Jolly made provocative statements within the lyrics of a song. During a search of his residence in Jimmit, authorities say they recovered three replica firearms that closely resemble real guns.

Following the arrest, Mr. Jolly was taken to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for questioning and was subsequently released on Thursday, August 28, 2025, as investigations into the incident continue.

The Dominica Police Force reaffirmed its “commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring the safety, security, and peace of the Commonwealth of Dominica.”

Unless these toys or imitation firearms were used in the commission of a crime DJ MJ will walk free. No law in the land prevents one from owning a toy gun . I will always support the Popo but when I see BS I will call it out. Chief Corbette you are doing good so keep steering the ship in the right direction but please stop ur overzealous men from harassing citizens on behalf of politicians.

But those in “RED ZONE” seem to have a leader who defies the police and the same police cant do him/her a darn.
If the police says walk, the bad egg says to the members stop, if the police says look up, the bad egg says to the members look down. Why can’t this empty headed moron be arrested? Are you all ashamed of being dismissed? Cowards!
You all are jokers not police! Seem like Dominicas last real police died last Sunday. Cuffy would have arrested that bad egg already.
Didn’t Skerrit tell his supporters in Bellevue Chopin to throw hot water on opposition politicians? What happened?
Jokers. How can selective targeting be consistent with good policing?
This police force is in decay. Too much politics. The CDPF is a politically compromised organisation. A failure.

Boy,boy, boy,I cannot understand why some people so ignorant and they using their ignorance like a gold medal. In 2011 a law was passed banning the use and possession of imitation firearms. That bill was debated in parliament,it is an offence to have imitation firearm in one’s possession.Based on what the guy said the police searched his house and imitation firearm was found,so who SOT?

This is a total waste of national resources. Instead of wasting time and resources on trivialities, the police would serve the community much better by going after real criminals.

There are so many unsolved murders, so many criminals walking freely among the regular population. But the police going after residents with toy guns and trying to stifle free speech. Dominica is unique for all the wrong reasons.

Its called killing dissent through intimidation bro!
One thing I know and will remind all the DLP exploiters, Skerrit and DLP can never be in power forever. I know some will run but they will not be able to hide because unlike what they believe, Dcans have a longggggggg memory. The veil that men do will come back and hunt them sooner or later.

Please educate me but I can’t overstand how ” making provocative statements within the lyrics of a song “, lead to the search search of his rĂ©sidence?!

Boss if you need to be “educated” so you can understand a matter as simple as this, then you should pay back the taxpayers for all the years of free schooling you got.
