Dominica and Tajikistan have signed an agreement to end visa requirements between the two countries.
The agreement was signed on Tuesday, February 11, by Dominica’s permanent representative to the United Nations (UN), Philbert Aaron, and his Tajikistan counterpart, Jonibek Hikmat in New York.
Based on the agreement, nationals of both countries who are holders of valid diplomatic, official, and ordinary passports shall be exempted from visa requirements to enter, exit, transit through, and temporarily stay in each other’s country, provided that the length of stay does not exceed 90 days.
The agreement is for an indefinite period and will begin 30 days after both countries receive the last written notification by diplomatic means of the completion of domestic procedures necessary for it to take effect.
Tajikistan is a land-locked country in Central Asia surrounded by Afghanistan, China, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. In 2020 its population was estimated at 9,313,800 people, with 74 percent living in rural areas. It is considered the poorest country among former Soviet republics, with per capita GDP estimated at US$ 874 in 2020.
this is no achievement
how many of us travel to the recent countries we keep getting visa free entry to, also before reaching any of these countries u must go via a country where a visa is needed
Mr. Aron
get back our free visa entry to
uk and canada
where the majority of us Dominican’s visit or used to visit before restrictions
If one were to give a map of the world to all Dominicans, 99.9% of them will NOT be able to locate Tajikistan. Need I say more?
Never once in my life I heard any Dominican say they are traveling to; or have returned from a visit to Tajikistan! The purpose of a travel entry visa is to regulate and control the entry and stay of foreign nationals in a country. It ensures that individuals comply with the immigration laws and regulations of the host country. My friend I don’t know where is your place of residence; nevertheless, with the knowledge that you are perhaps a Dominica born, I must asks you: have you ever met anyone in Dominica, and during an introduction, or conversation they told you they are from “Tajikistan?” That sort of agreement usually are between nations where there nationals visits their country’s on regularly; i.e the United States and Canada where we drive in and out of both country’s daily. Even prior to the EU, one could drive from France to the rest of the European continent, people had to obtained travel visa, and now England left the EU, the European need visa to enter England.
It is advisable that foods with funny (foreign) names that you cannot pronounce should not be consumed. Based on that statement, the logical conclusion is that countries whose names are unfamiliar and unheard of, one should be apprehensive of being too quick to form diplomatic ties.
This was done to boost the rating of Dominica’s passport as it lags last in value of all others in the OECS. Everything that’s done by this administration is for political expediency.
Literally never heard of that country but i’m an idiot so no suprise there.
How exactly does this help Dominicans? School ? for work? It borders with Afghanistan…a war zone.
That’s just to make passsports more attractive.
Yaaaaay
. What a monumental achievement. Dominicans it’s a dream come true. A proud moment indeed. My bags are packed and I’m ready to go. Great going Dr. Aaron, you stand like a champion and the Dominican people are proud. In your face Checko. Ambassador A has delivered. Our economy is going to boom now. Next stop Afghanistan. World’s poorest country here we come
For the attention of all my fellow Dominican’s .”There are infrequent incursions by armed criminal and terrorist groups across the Afghanistan Border into Tajikistan;s . It is believed that this country may be linked to ISIS
I hope the Dominican Government is keeping an eye on what they are locking themselves into.
I also hoping the Government has done enough research on the aforementioned country with regards to global threat prior to entering such a contract which could result in Dominica being seen as a counterpart of the terrorist world.
Another blow for the blue do nothing handful of losers.Dominica on the move, while the blues are buried in S*** up to their eyebrows.Way to go Doc Aaron, let the fools continue to wallow in their high level of stupidity.
Blow for the blue how? I promise you, you or no one you know is looking to go there
@lamanidiot
Don’t argue with a semi illiterate. This is a self professed CLOWN. He certainly cant show you where to look for Tajikistan on a world map. Ha called it a blow to UWP?😄😄😄😄 His brain must be fried.
@ Clown, another deportee of President Donald Trump…
Guy you are a complete idiot you you know!
Tell me what does this: “Dominica and Tajikistan have signed an agreement to end visa requirements between the two countries.”
What is Dominica benefiting from that, and what effect that have on the UWP, or supporter of the UWP and, members?
Well, I know you claimed you served in both the American and Canadian military simultaneously, plus you were a police officer in Dominica, serving at the same time with Blackmore, so you have quite a resume: nevertheless; your stupidity outweighs your ignorance each time you open your mouth! Now, diplomatic relations serve countries by protecting national interests, boosting economic partnerships, and maintaining peace. Diplomacy involves communication, negotiation, and nonviolent means to resolve conflicts and promote cooperation among nations. Diplomatic missions are the primary means of communication between nations, facilitating cooperation and resolving conflicts; that’s different; clown!
