Flight options for the upcoming 2025–2026 winter travel season have increased significantly, as per an announcement from the Ministry of Tourism, in collaboration with the Discover Dominica Authority (DDA). The release explained that enhancement in air connectivity involves expanded services from major airlines such as United Airlines, American Airlines, LIAT, British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, and Caribbean Airlines.
These developments aim to “enhance international and regional connectivity to the Nature Island and support growing demand for travel to Dominica.”
United Airlines is now providing a combination of daily flights and direct routes. The airline operates twice weekly nonstop flights from Newark, New Jersey (EWR → DOM) and offers daily one-stop services. This expanded schedule is designed to improve accessibility from key U.S. gateways, making it easier for travelers from across the United States to reach Dominica.
Starting December 18, American Airlines will introduce twice-daily nonstop flights from Miami, Florida (MIA → DOM). Officials say this new service aims to bolster Dominica’s presence in the North American market and accommodate the increased travel volume during the winter holiday season.
From the Dominican Republic, LIAT will commence twice-weekly nonstop flights from Punta Cana beginning December 16. This route not only improves intra-island travel but also aligns with Dominica’s multi-destination tourism strategy, facilitating easier movement between Caribbean destinations, said the release.
For long-haul travelers from the United Kingdom and Europe, Dominica will benefit from daily one-stop connections via British Airways and Virgin Atlantic.
According to the release, regional carriers continue to play a vital role in maintaining year-round connectivity. Contour Airlines offers nonstop jet services connecting Dominica with St. Thomas and San Juan, with three flights weekly between St. Thomas and Dominica and four weekly flights between Dominica and San Juan. Caribbean Airlines will maintain its thrice-weekly service between San Juan and Dominica through January 10, 2026.
Additional regional flights will be sustained through Sunrise Airways, InterCaribbean Airways, and WINAIR, ensuring service across the Caribbean.
Commenting on the development, Hon. Denise Charles-Pemberton, Minister for Tourism, stated, “The enhanced airlift reflects our commitment to improving Dominica’s connectivity and ensuring that travel to the Nature Island becomes easier for visitors and nationals. These new and expanded routes support our tourism growth goals and strengthen Dominica’s position in the regional and international travel market.”
