Dominica Athletics Association hosts youth sports event in Grand Bay this weekend

The Dominica Athletics Association (DAA) has announced its annual National Juvenile Track and Field Meet, scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 21, and Sunday, June 22, 2025. The event will be held at the Geneva Playing Field in Grand Bay, with activities beginning at 9:30 AM on both days. The organizers stated via press release that the meet aims to showcase the talents of young athletes from across Dominica.

This two-day competition will feature competitors under the age of 15, representing various schools and athletic clubs from throughout the country. The DAA shared that the events will include sprints, distance races, relays, and field disciplines, providing a platform for emerging athletes to demonstrate their skills, discipline, and competitive spirit.

The DAA emphasizes that the meet is a significant component of its athlete development programs. It offers young athletes the opportunity to compete, gain valuable experience, and potentially qualify for regional and international representation in the future.

The organization has extended an invitation to the public to attend and support the upcoming generation of Dominican athletes. Entry to the event is free of charge.
