The Dominica Business Forum Inc has announced a public discussion titled “Complexity of Trade, and Doing Business in Dominica”, set to take place on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. The event will be held at the Alwin Bully Auditorium, located at the University of the West Indies Global Campus on Elmshall Road in Roseau.
The forum will feature representatives from several key private sector organizations, including the Dominica Employers Federation, the Dominica Manufacturers Association, the Dominica Coalition of Service Industries, and Josephine Gabriel & Co Ltd. These entities have confirmed their participation in the panel discussion. The Honorable Vince Henderson, Minister for Trade and Foreign Affairs, has also been invited to speak, though his participation is pending confirmation.
Organizers say the event comes at a time when Dominica’s investment climate, trade dynamics, and public policy are facing significant challenges, particularly affecting the private sector and the manufacturing industry.
The Dominica Business Forum Inc aims to foster a “mature, frank, open and educational” exchange of ideas to inform the public on current trade-related issues. The discussion is open to all members of the public and will be streamed live across social media platforms. Media outlets are encouraged to broadcast the event as a public service.
The little boy from backstreet St.Joseph,Layou and Didier lane,Dr.Vince Henderson is not as crooked, bias and one-sided as you,IBO.Vince say things as he see it,All you too crooked that is why people not voting all you.
What will Vince say to the proprietors of the locally owned businesses after trying his best to permanently scar the pristine image of an indigenous business? They should disinvite him as his likely presentation would not be of any real value.
The local economy is in the ICU. Instead of trying to incentivize the economy by giving tax breaks, lowering taxes, electricity and water rates for struggling small nd medium size businesses, the dimwitted head of this current administration has attempted to squeeze every cent from the meager profits they make. Some businesses are finding it difficult to break even.
A prosperous nation is not measured by the number of edifices that are erected. It is evaluated by the living standards of the average family. With the many business
closures, unemployment skyrocketing, inflation constantly on the rise, the lives of Dominicans hang in limbo.
