Dominica Cadet Corps hosts intensive training camp to prepare over 20 potential officers for leadership roles

The Dominica Cadet Corps has taken another step to increase its cadre of Officers.

Over 20 Potential Cadet Officers -PCO’s will join Commissioned and non-commission Officers of the Dominica Cadet Corps for a weekend camp from February 27th to March 1st. 2026.

The camp is to prepare the potential officers to take up responsibilities as Unit Commanders and other roles within the DCC. It will also serve as a refresher for the Commissioned and non-commissioned Officers.

The PCO’s and non-commissioned officers have been undergoing theoretical training virtually on various subjects pertinent to the Cadet Corps since last November and the 3 day camp will engage them in the practical aspects of the training.

The on-camp training will be conducted by senior Officers of the DCC and is scheduled to take place at the Office of Disaster Management facility – ODM in Jimmit.

The DCC has been on a drive to increase the number of cadets recruited in the Cadet Corps Program island-wide.

The Dominica Cadet Corps is a paramilitary youth organization administered through the island’s secondary schools to help instill discipline and civic responsibility among young people.
