
The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Blue and Green Economy (MoAFBGE) has announced its official lineup of events to commemorate World Food Day 2025, aligned with the global theme “Hand in Hand for Better Foods and a Better Future.”
A press release said this year’s schedule underscores the Ministry’s steadfast dedication to advancing sustainable food production, fostering youth participation, promoting education, and encouraging inclusive discussions on the future of agriculture, fisheries, and food security.
The planned activities are as follows:
Weekend of October 11–12, 2025
– Youth-focused radio segment on DBS Radio
– Messages delivered during church services across the island
– National address on World Food Day
October 15, 2025
– Outreach programs in schools, including poster distribution and classroom discussions in all agricultural regions
– An online poster and poem competition for students, organized by FAO
October 16, 2025 – World Food Day
– A national speech by the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Blue and Green Economy, broadcast on Kairi FM’s “Heng,” DBS Radio’s “Talking Point,” and Espewans Creole/NAYA programs
– Educational discussion at the Documentation Center with Grade 6 students from Goodwill Primary School
– A social media campaign featuring a roving selfie frame and banners across various platforms
– WFD 4-H Clubs Food Expo at Marigot Youth Center in the North East Region
“The Ministry invites all citizens, schools, communities, and stakeholders to actively participate in these activities as we join hands to foster awareness, celebrate agricultural achievements, and promote resilient food systems for a sustainable future,” stated the release.
