Dominica fit and ready to face Bermuda and names 11 for game one

Head coach of Dominica’s Senior Men’s National Football team Ellington Sabin said his team is “fit, and ready” for action against Bermuda in the first of two matches in the Concacaf Nations League Football later this evening in Bermuda.

Currently positioned third in their group, Dominica is eager to capitalize on this opportunity to advance in the league.

The team will face Bermuda in its first two matches scheduled for Saturday, October 12, and Tuesday, October 15.

Coach Sabin said that he is pleased with how things have gone. “The practices went well, the guys look sharp and determined to take on the opponent. It was also a test for the local players to see how well they blended with the overseas players, so yes, we are ready, it is now time for the players to go on the field and execute what they were taught and practiced,” he said.

Speaking about the cold conditions in Bermuda, Coach Sabin explained that the management staff have put the necessary things in place to assist the players.

“We have some ideas to assist the players and mitigate against the cold conditions that will help the players to perform at their best,” the Coach stated. He also expressed delight that the team has “no injuries at this time” saying “all the players are fit and ready to play whenever called upon to do so.”

He also called on the Dominican public to continue to “support and have faith in the team.”

To the Dominican public he had this to say, “Please support the team, whenever we go on the field, we aim to do our best, all the time it may not come out as we expect, it may not always come out as planned but rest assured that as players and staff, we always aim to do our best, so keep putting your faith in us and we will always try our best to make you all proud,” he stated.
