On January 16, 2026, the Dominica Lions Club, accompanied by the District Governor of Lions Clubs International District 60B, paid a formal courtesy visit to Her Excellency the President of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Mrs. Sylvanie Burton.  Part of the District Governor’s official itinerary, this visit served as a platform to reiterate what the Lions Club describes as its dedication to service, community upliftment, and partnership initiatives aimed at enhancing the welfare of the people of Dominica.

During the engagement, conversations emphasized the longstanding role of the Dominica Lions Club in key areas such as healthcare, youth empowerment, disaster relief efforts, and community service projects, as per a press release by the organization.

The District Governor outlined the district’s vision and strategic objectives, focusing on amplifying service outcomes, fostering leadership skills, and increasing member participation throughout the district.

Reportedly, Her Excellency conveyed her gratitude for the Lions’ unwavering commitment and voluntary efforts both locally and globally, praising the organization for its sustained positive influence across communities in Dominica.

She highlighted the vital role civic organizations play in national progress and social unity, especially among youth, with particular attention to young men.

The President also acknowledged the Leo Club’s significant contribution to youth development and the active engagement of young men within both clubs.

The Dominica Lions Club reaffirmed its pledge to work in close collaboration with national partners and to continue embodying the Lions Clubs International motto, “We Serve.”
