The Dominica National 4-H Club successfully staged its National Public Speaking Competition, drawing participants from primary and secondary schools across the island. The event highlighted the confidence, creativity, and critical thinking skills of young speakers as they addressed a variety of thought-provoking topics.

Guided by the 4-H theme, “Beyond Ready… Thinking Bigger, Serving Better, Living Healthier,” students demonstrated their ability to rise above expectations while embodying the values of leadership, service, and personal growth central to the 4-H movement.

The competition concluded with an awards ceremony recognizing outstanding performances. Awards were presented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Culture, Youth, Sports and Community Development, who commended the participants for their eloquence, courage, and dedication. In remarks, the Permanent Secretary emphasized the importance of youth engagement and praised the 4-H Club for providing a platform for holistic development.

Judges evaluated students on content, delivery, confidence, and overall impact. The high level of preparation was evident, reflecting the support of teachers, parents, and club leaders.

The Dominica National 4-H Club extended congratulations to all participants for representing their schools with pride and expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Culture, Youth, Sports and Community Development, judges, educators, and supporters for contributing to the success of the event. The organization reaffirmed its commitment to empowering youth who are not only ready for the future but prepared to go beyond ready.
