Police are investigating a homicide and a wounding which occurred on Sunday, May 10, 2020, in the southeastern community of Fab.

    With all due respect, please get your facts straight. Mr. Registe is not the rep of that area. That area is part of the petite savan constituency.

      No development yet the people keep voting Labour, it just doesn’t make sense. Was it UWP or Labour that built the fab road.

    @Truth
    I agree that the place lacks basic developments, jobs and more. Having voice that, poverty, joblessness, underdevelopment is no excuse for murder and violence on someone’s person. That attack using a fishing gun and a machete was most barbaric. The only person to be blamed is the murderer himself.

    Where is the Mp does he have nothing to say ,no opportunity for the young people in this constituency. A declining fishing village that was one of the leading fishing village in the whole of the Caribbean.

      You may be mistaking this with nearby Fond St. Jean, which indeed was a thriving fishing village with an active cooperative and its own freezing facility.

    Truth is this village lacks development and has been left behind in terms of development. Only a new road from fond st jean to fab.a declining fishing village that was one of the leading fishing village in the whole Caribbean. Where is the work for these young men.no opportunity for them or very little if any.this is a factor. What has the last two Mps done for fond st Jean and fab. They may as well not been an mp and what is he saying on this matter nothing.

    So far Covid-19 has taken no life of any Dominican thank God, and though 17 have been confirmed positive we are down to just 2 now, thank God again! But my problem is we have been on lockdown and curfew since March 29. But while I don’t have a problem with curfew and lockdown, it’s amazing to note some of the things happening while on lockdown you know:
    1. St. Lucian man stabbed two women in Grandfond; while on curfew and lockdown a famous building in the Center of Roseau was demolished in secret; the labass was set on fire yesterday which somehow forced the firetrucks to be there putting out the fire but while the firetrucks are engaged at the labass, low and behold a building in a community is on fire and by the time the fire truck came in several houses and eleven cars are destroyed. But it’s worse. A man cut the face and mouth of a man and that same man speargunned another to death. So I ask myself if curfew is really working or it is an opportunity for some to do their work

    This is extremely sad. Profound sympathy to the family of the victims. The perpetrator is insanely wicked to commit such dastardly acts. Nothing can justify such actions.

    Seems like the police even ashamed of or maybe instructed by the authorities to not give the name of the village that crime took place. So they say is in Can. Way the hell is Fab? Man that took place in Grandbaby, the village where Ed Registe of the Dominica labor party is the parlrep and also chairperson of the village council. What all you ashamed of? Everybody knows is Grandbay and Portsmouth, the heart of the DLP, is also the heart of crime and violence in Dominica and the police can’t stop them because they too afraid that they don’t get victimized by the system for going after these criminals. Dominica is a very dangerous country today, where everyone is committing Crime from captain to cook.

      May 12, 2020

      Part of our problem is people like you presenting false information in a manner like you are certain of what you’re saying. Fab is actually a community in the Fond St Jean area. So there is no cover up of any name and if memory serves me right, Kenneth Darroux; not Ed Registe represents that community in parliament. Additionally, I not sure what representation has to do with an evil, heartless individual who chose to commit a heinous act against his own. I think we are missing the point. We are more and more becoming a society where love and compassion is lacking.
      Get your facts straight before you come to try to educate us.

      Grandbay itself is not a fishing village. The sea is too rough there to land boats. The nearest fish landing place would be at Stowe (battery) which has very limited facilities.

    Are our people void of conscience? Why so much violence and crime? Is gun here, fishing gun, there, cutlass and stones all used to kill one another. What is wrong with our people with that Spirit of violence? Seems like no law or constitution can stop them from murdering one another man.

    • god way
