Police say they seized 29, 960.5 grams (about 66 lbs) of alleged cannabis during a firearm and narcotics arrest.

According to information from Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Inspector Simon Edwards, one man was arrested at a checkpoint in Pont Casse at 3:00 p.m on Tuesday 14th April 2020 when the vehicle he was driving was stopped and searched.

One Taurus .40 calibre pistol with ten live rounds of 10.2mm ammunition and 29, 960.5 grams of alleged cannabis were found in the vehicle.

The guns must be prosecuted. All over the world countries have turned back marijuana prohibition which was done purely FOR RACIST REASONS in the U.S. Many countries have turned marijuana into an industry like it was before it was prohibited and designed to achieve locking up of Black men as it was designed. As a direct result American prisons have been bursting at the seams with Black men for simple possession of a bit of the weed, and we were instructed to do the same when locking up our men has proved detrimental to us. We never had the made up lies in their campaign propaganda of white women being raped by Black men after smoking it as they claimed to have been the main reason for the prohibition; and they have us going along. Pure evil done to our men by design. This racist undertaking must stop.

By the way whats the situation with the making an industry from cannabis. there was so much hype about it last year, big consultation at the Goodwill Parish Hall even the PM said he was talking to some investor, but as usual these initiatives are just left to die, typical Dominica.

Arrest them for firearms and ammunition but tax them for the weed. Return the weed to them.
Its about time this world stops this nonsense for weed by tying up unnecessary police man hours for such stupidity. It gives farmers a steady income and jobs to the people. Weed at least keeps people calm and mellow as per the violence alcohol creates.
The church should also stop being hypocrites too and as a matter of fact all those damned churches should be taxed too

.40 mm is a granade. I’m pretty sure you ment 40S&W or 40 Cal which is the same size round.

I would concur. A 20 mm projectile would be difficult too discharge from a handgun. As far as I know a 0.40 pistol would employ a 10 mm. round.

40mm is a GRENADE fired from a GRENADE LAUNCHER.Dominica police had those launchers.I have never heard of a 40mm pistol made by TAURUS,we have Taurus guns in Dominica.S & W, is SMITH and WESSON which is different from TAURUS.I know there is a 50CAL. handgun made by S&W.The 40mm pistol by TAURUS must be new.

ADMIN: We have sought clarification from the police on matter of the ammunition, it is actually .50 calibre or 10.2mm ammunition. The article was updated.

Admin. Pls check again. A 0.50 round is typical belt fed ammunition such as used by the famed Browning machine gun. .50 refers to its diameter in inches (0.51 “ to be precise, closer to 13 mm.). It’s length would be 5 3/4 inch and you would not fire such a bullet from a handgun.

ADMIN: You are right its .40 calibre.

That’s very good. But I would like the Police to treat everyone equal. For example, during the Easter lockdown we saw many small jets from Venezuela and Cuba landing at our airports and to me they looked as if they were conducting some kind of illegal activity. I wish the police them would investigate them to see what the hell was going on in the name of medical supplies and personel ?

U just want to talk? Are u in the real world? but of course, they were dropping medical supplies, etc. They were given clearance. They are essential in this COVID -19 pandemic. Sometimes one wonders why is there so much mischief in some people’s minds? They are blind to truth except for the mischief they thinking of. No good thoughts are in their head only looking to say bad things or rumor mongers never see any good in anyone. You all need help and divine intervention. Do u even love your own selves? I really wonder.
