Dominica represented at the 12th Annual Beekeepers Congress & Honey Show in St. Lucia

The National Beekeepers Cooperative Society Ltd. from Dominica has sent a delegation to the 12th Annual Beekeepers Congress taking place in St. Lucia. The group is headed by Nathaniel Lovell.  This gathering is a forum for beekeepers throughout the Caribbean, facilitating opportunities for knowledge exchange and networking among professionals in the field.

The congress serves as an essential venue for those involved in the apiculture sector to gain insights from experts, confront current challenges, and delve into emerging trends, technologies, and effective practices related to honey production and beekeeping management. Its agenda features a range of workshops and discussion sessions aimed at enhancing the competencies and expertise of beekeepers.

The Dominican delegation comprises several key individuals, including Nathaniel Lovell (serving as Vice President), Vernella Orlé (Public Relations Officer), Antonia Joseph (member of the Supervisory Committee), and Terri Henry-Lovell (Cooperative Member), all representing the National Beekeepers Cooperative Society Ltd. Additionally, the team benefits from the involvement of Bryan Bertrand, who holds the position of Animal Health & Production Officer with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Blue & Green Economy, as well as Mr. Lude Kitchener Laville from Kibe Kuati Inc., a group of Kalinago beekeepers eager to glean important insights for enhancing their practices within the indigenous community.

One of the key attractions of this event is the Annual Honey Show, where participants from various countries, including Dominica, present their entries for competitive judging across numerous categories.
