The Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) has made a successful appearance at the DEMA Show 2024, which was held in Las Vegas from November 19 to 22. Leading the delegation were CEO Marva Williams and Destination Marketing Manager Andia Ravariere, who highlighted the island’s exceptional diving opportunities alongside key local contributors, including Nature Island Dive and the Fort Young Hotel & Dive Resort.
The Diving Equipment & Marketing Association (DEMA) Show is renowned for drawing hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of industry professionals from across the globe, serving as a venue for networking and knowledge exchange. The DDA’s involvement is part of its Integrated Marketing Plan (IMP) for 2024/2025, aimed specifically at promoting the distinctive diving experiences and natural allure of Dominica.
During the event, CEO Marva Williams expressed, “Our island is recognized as a premier dive destination in the Caribbean, and we strive to reinforce this reputation at every opportunity. With pristine reefs, vibrant marine life, and breathtaking underwater dive sites, Dominica offers a truly unique experience. Our mission is not only to promote Dominica as the Nature Island but also to position it as a sustainable, must-visit destination that invites divers from around the globe to discover our extraordinary underwater wonders.”
DDA’s targeted efforts at the DEMA Show are anticipated to significantly boost Dominica’s tourism sector. By showcasing the island’s rich ecological diversity and outstanding diving conditions, the DDA seeks to draw in more divers and eco-tourists, enhancing economic growth through increased visitor traffic.
Looking forward, the DDA is already in the process of organizing for the next DEMA Show. They are planning a more engaging and informative presentation that will further spotlight Dominica’s underwater treasures. This initiative includes the creation of customized dive packages in collaboration with local lodging and tourism partners.
