In January 2026, the Caribbean region continues to enhance its appeal to American travelers, with Dominica experiencing a notable 7.5% rise in U.S. vacation arrivals.

It joins its neighbors “Cayman Islands,Dominican Republic, Haiti, Turks and Caicos Islands, the Netherlands Antilles, and others”, in a recent upsurge of  tourists, as reported by Travel and Tour World.

Specifically, the country welcomed 633 visitors from the United States during this period, reflecting its growing popularity among eco-conscious holidaymakers.

The publication said that Dominica’s emphasis on sustainable tourism and environmental preservation has positioned it as an attractive destination for those seeking nature-based experiences. Tourists can enjoy activities such as hiking, bird watching, and river tubing, which showcase the island’s natural environment.

It also attributed the increase in American visitors to improved air connectivity, with more flight options now available from major U.S. cities.  According to the article, the enhanced airlift has significantly increased the island’s accessibility, making it easier for travelers to reach Dominica.

Furthermore, the Caribbean’s overall attractiveness has reportedly been bolstered by a combination of competitive pricing for vacation packages and the expansion of air travel options. These factors, coupled with a regional focus on sustainable tourism, have made Caribbean destinations more enticing for U.S. visitors.

“As awareness of Dominica’s eco-tourism offerings grows, the island is poised for continued success in attracting U.S. tourists”, projects TTW.
