Dominica State College (DSC) extended support to one of its own, JaiQi Gu, an architecture student who lost his belongings in a devastating fire in Roseau on March 1.
According to a statement, the College donated to JaiQi from a fundraiser initiative to show solidarity and assist him during this difficult time.
The handover was attended by students from his faculty, including Student Ambassadors, who came out in support.
Representatives from the FAAT, the Student Affairs Department, and the I Love You Foundation were also present, highlighting a collective effort to stand with the student.
“The gesture underscores DSC’s commitment to supporting its students beyond the classroom, especially in times of need,” the statement concluded.
Why did this have to make national news??? Couldn’t the young man have been helped without this public show?
Juanita and stupes should tell the Jolly good fellow,the,$25,000 he bet the international airport l can never be built he should give toJaiQi.
Good job DSC.
Great vibes!
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but this one leaves much to be explained. While the caption says “JaiQi receives donation from DSC” the photo simply shows a man handing over a piece of paper. Why is the specific amount not disclosed?
Sorry about your loss JaiQi!
Totally agree!
I need to know the amount DSC paid this man.
Its only right that I be informed so that I can respond with the correct and appropriate level of drama, pettiness and grandstanding.
Too little will make me look like an amateur and too much might get me too many dislikes.
It seems my strategy worked look at them likes and dislikes boy!
Obviously my comment is having fun with the topic.
It sad that our people don’t seem to understand and appreciate subtlety, irony or turns of phrase in humor unless its making fun of someone or some group especially ones they don’t like…
Lol, what is there to be explained, why are you so interested in the specific amount, are you going to march it.
