It wasn’t a Black Friday for the Dominica State College A Team as they successfully defended their Sports Division Secondary Schools Football Championship with a 3 nil defeat of Castle Bruce Secondary School on Friday 13th March 2026 at the DFA Technical Training Center in Stockfarm.
Castle Bruce Secondary School started the brightest of the two schools with some neat passing combinations, created some good scoring opportunities but failed to convert. All their good efforts went in vain as Dominica State College began to grow into the match and took control.
A double strike from Turrie Christmas a goal each on either side of the half and a Nathaniel Roberts goal sandwich in between took the match away.
The first goal of Turrie being a beautiful direct free kick from just outside the 18 yards box giving the diving Castle Bruce Secondary School goalkeeper no chance, began the breakdown of Castle Bruce Secondary School confidence and the other a cool finish from inside the Castle Bruce Secondary School Six Yards box in the second half after some indecision from the Castle Bruce Secondary School defenders from a Dominica State College corner kick.
Nathaniel Roberts got the second of Dominica State College three goals with a wonderful right footer to the top corner to put the State College comfortably ahead at the half.
Dominica State College however was reduced to 10 players in the second half after Nathaniel Roberts received his second bookable offense but they were able to hold off the Castle Bruce Secondary School for the victory and a clean sheet as Castle Bruce Secondary School attack was not aggressive enough in the second half.
Congratulations to the Dominica State College on the successful defense of their U20 Sports Division Secondary Schools Football competition.
