The Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) recently engaged in the 2025 Salon du Voyage exhibitions held in Martinique and Guadeloupe, where they showcased summer travel packages for Dominica and connected with potential visitors from the region.
DDA reports that events facilitated direct interaction with travel professionals and allowed for immediate booking opportunities for tourists.
In Martinique, the exhibition occurred from March 21-23, 2025, at the Palais des Congrès de Madiana. DDA representatives included Ms. Daphne Vidal, Project Officer, and Ms. Markerah George, Acting Marketing Executive focused on the Caribbean and French West Indies. They were accompanied by key players from the private sector, such as Ms. Nancy Atzenweiler from Jungle Bay, Mrs. Decima Sharplis Valentine of Sea World Guest House, and Mr. Ricknal Daley of Ricky’s Tours, Voyages & Services. The team emphasized Dominica’s offerings in nature and wellness tourism while enabling same-day bookings, stated the press release.

The Holiday and Leisure Fair in Guadeloupe took place from April 4-6, 2025, at the Palais des Sports du Gosier. The theme of the event, “The Islands Between Them,” highlighted the interconnectedness and distinctiveness of Caribbean islands. Representatives at the Dominica booth included Ms. Samantha Letang, Group Marketing Manager at GEMS; Ms. Shaney Bartley, Marketing Assistant at Fort Young Hotel; Ms. Vidal and Ms. George from DDA; Ms. Atzenweiler from Jungle Bay; Mrs. Jenniffer Sharplis, manager of Flamboyant Hotel; and Miss Dominica 2025, Ms. Tanisha Balson. According to the DDA, the presence of Balson contributed cultural richness to the booth, enhancing Dominica’s attractiveness to potential travelers.
“Our participation in the Salon du Voyage exhibitions in Martinique and Guadeloupe highlights our commitment to expanding Dominica’s presence in the Caribbean tourism market. These events provide a unique opportunity to engage directly with regional travelers, build lasting relationships with industry professionals, and showcase our island’s diverse offerings,” shared Ms. Marva Williams, CEO of Discover Dominica Authority.
Participation in both Martinique and Guadeloupe is part of the Authority’s broader strategy to promote summer travel, increase visibility, and develop partnerships that will drive continued growth in Dominica’s tourism industry, explained the release.
“Dominica’s natural beauty, rich culture, and hospitality make it an ideal destination for those seeking authentic experiences. We look forward to welcoming more visitors from the French” concluded Williams.

A very great and commendable move there by the DDA. A most impressive presentation from
all appearances. Kudos to Ms Williams and her dynamic team. My hope and prayer is that this endeavour will redound to a significantly increased influx of neighbouring french Antillean visitors to our
fascinatingly beautiful island. Yah bless Dominica.
