
The Dominica Athletics Association has announced that two of the country’s top athletes will represent Dominica at the upcoming North American, Central American, and Caribbean (NACAC) Senior Championships. The event is scheduled to take place in Freeport, Bahamas, from August 15 to August 17, 2025.
Treneese Hamilton will participate in the Women’s Shot Put competition. The DAA reports that she is recognized for her strength, skill, and determination, and she aims to set a new personal best while securing a commendable position for Dominica. Hamilton has established herself as one of the nation’s leading female throwers on the regional stage, and she currently holds the national record for Shot Put.
Dennick Luke, the national record holder, will compete in the 400-meter hurdles. This event is known for its physical and technical demands, requiring a combination of speed, endurance, and accuracy. As an emerging talent in athletics, Luke has shown notable promise and competitive drive during national and regional meets, and the DAA reports that he is eager to make a significant impact against some of the top athletes in the region.
The NACAC Senior Championships is a premier event that gathers top-tier athletes from North America, Central America, and the Caribbean. It provides a platform for athletes to display their abilities and fosters stronger sporting ties within the region.
