Dominican students to showcase innovation at national STEM Fair 2026

Students across Dominica are set to put their creativity and problem-solving skills on display as the Ministry of Education, Human Resource Planning, Vocational Training, and National Excellence hosts a national STEM Fair today, Friday, May 8, 2026.

The event will take place at the St. Alphonsus Parish Hall beginning at 10:00 AM under the theme “STEM at Work: Building Industry Capacity through Ideas.”

Designed as a showcase of innovation, the fair will feature projects from both primary and secondary school students, highlighting how Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics can be used to tackle everyday issues and real-world challenges, shared a press release from the education ministry.

Organizers say the initiative aims to encourage students to think creatively, develop critical thinking skills, and strengthen their ability to solve problems, while also demonstrating how STEM education can contribute to national growth and help build stronger local industries.

Members of the public will have an opportunity to explore the exhibits and interact with students from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM. The showcase is expected to give visitors a firsthand look at the talent, innovation, and ideas being nurtured in schools throughout Dominica.
