Dominican wins Dominica National Lottery jackpot of more than $800,000

BLAST Mystery Progressive winner, Evette Ruby Baptiste-Johnson, receives cheque

Evette Ruby Baptiste-Johnson walked away with a cheque amounting to $885,027.70 after being named the biggest Blast Mystery Progressive Winner.

The announcement was made during a presentation ceremony organized by the Dominica National Lottery (DNL) on Thursday.

Johnson played at McMillian Gaming located in Castle Comfort. She is a regular customer there.

“I am not going to tell you to leave your kids hungry and play BLAST, but if you have some money to spare do what I do. I was bored, I went to my cousin’s party and on my way, I stopped [there],” Johnson said while delivering remarks at the ceremony.

She continued, “God was with me through it all…it was my turn and God gave it to me.”

Johnson said also that she is grateful for everyone who has supported her.

“I am grateful for my family and our children who are very precious to me,” she stated.

Johnson said she intends to use her winnings wisely through charity.

The Blast Mystery Progressive Jackpot has been won a total of four times since its launch late October, 2024. And all four times have been women.

It has been won twice at its McMillian Services location.
