Dominica’s count of coronavirus cases remains at 11 as probable cases test negative

Dr. Shalludiin Ahmed

The total number of positive Covid-19 cases in Dominica remains at eleven (11) as four (4) probable cases which had to be re-tested, returned negative.

National Epidemiologist, Dr. Shalluddin Ahmed,  made that disclosure at a press briefing on Friday evening.

“As of today, 167 samples collected over the past two weeks, of them, 149 samples were tested so far, and as of now, a total number of positive COVID cases remains at 11,” Dr. Ahmed revealed.

He said 138 cases tested negative including the four probable cases.

He said so far, there is no death.

“Most of these cases are from one community,” Dr. Ahmed noted.

He said, at this time, a total of 136 people are quarantined at the Government Quarantine Facility in Portsmouth.

Dr. Ahmed reminded the people of Dominica to adhere to the directives given by the health officials.

“Continue to stay indoors,” he advised.

Since the Press Conference debacle with Dr. F and the Cabalist Dictator I refuse to be fooled by any of these mind manipulators. What is in the dark MUST come to light eventually because these rouges and vagabonds SHALL fall out and we the just men/ women of Dca will get our reward.

What is the current situation of the 11 persons tested positive? Are their conditions mild? Are they recovering? Is anyone in the ICU? The report presented above is incomplete.

I have an issue with what was stated in the report and the announcement made by the MOH. It stands to reason that either (a) Some one is manipulating the truth, (b) Quarantine in the Dominican Context has failed or (c) their lies are being exposed. you decide.
We were told that as soon as the imported cases landed they were placed in isolation. N.B we were told so after cases 1 and 2. Yet the report above says most of the positive cases came from one community. There is an association with the village of Delices. How can this be explained? Why are our Authorities insisting on misleading the masses? Despite the devastation of this pandemic, why do we believe their is benefit in disrespecting the masses? Why oh Why? Remember that the truth is incontrovertible, Panic may resent it. Ignorance may deride it. Malice may attack and distort it but in the end there it is! How can we work together to fight this disease if the truth is manipulated? We need the truth so that we can move on!

This is a trade mark of the Skerrit regime: corruption, total opaqueness and tonnes of lies. Skerrit and his ministers ought to be kicked out of our country. That’s all they deserve!!

I’m very happy that we have the means to test for the virus and obtain results so quickly.
By God’s grace Dominica will get through this. We’re a resilient nation 💪🏽🇩🇲

I find it very, very, very interesting and probably even disturbing that Dr. Ahmed had to say this: “He said so far, there is no death.” What did he say that? Did the press ask him if there were any death? Better yet does he know anything about death but doesn’t want to make an announcement? I mean two days ago you told us we had 11 confirmed cases and 4 to retest. Then today you and all before you said we had no new cases and those four that had to be retested were all negative. So why tell us that so far, there is no death? Oh no I don’t trust that one nou gason. Seems like there is some food cooking that is too hot to eat now or, thinking of ‘yet’ you were implying that someone is almost there but at the time of the press briefing there was still a little left. Mr. A. T is time you write another poem this time on If the dead could talk. I say again IF ONLY if only the dead could talk, then they would tell us if any has died and buried or, died and has not been buried.

I had very little faith in the Skerrit led ministry of health and their questionless press briefing but, when I heard Dr. Farreira today talking about ‘saving lives’ I got upset and turned off my computer because I realized is a joke or a show that was on. I am a laborite even if I don’t like a lot of things PM doing, but to me if he really wants to prove to us that he is about saving lives he should look for doctors that have a history and reputation of saving lives.
