Dominica’s fresh produce supply chain at risk as MV Addie K runs aground near St Kitts and Nevis

In a troubling turn of events, the motor vessel Addie K has reportedly run aground along the west coast of St Kitts and Nevis.

The vessel became stranded on a sandbank near the shore, and there are concerns that it may be taking on water.

The MV Addie K plays a crucial role in regional shipping, connecting Dominica with Antigua, St. Maarten, and St. Kitts.

Its grounding poses significant challenges for the transportation of goods between these islands, particularly impacting the supply of fresh produce from Dominica, which is essential for markets in Antigua and St Kitts.

Furthermore, the delivery of commercial goods from St. Maarten to the islands may face short- to medium-term disruptions as a result of this incident.

Maritime authorities and the St Kitts Coast Guard are currently evaluating the situation and are expected to provide updates soon.

In the meantime, businesses and individuals anticipating cargo movement via the MV Addie K are urged to reach out to local agents, such as Francis Trading Ltd in Antigua and Beverley Shipping in Dominica, for the most current information on service impacts.

but we can just use the 2 other boats that the gov had buy to allow farmers to export there produce
so with this one bring out of service we ca easily just move the needed loads onto the other 2 . problem solved easy like that

oh crap i just woke up and realized that it was only a dream and the gov instead donated 13 million to the WCMF that cannot stand on its own 2 legs after donkey years running
i bet i can go online all now and find a brand new boat for under 13 million
in fact i just found 2 of them 5.3 million ec dollars each

but i guess the sewo worth it more than the same agriculture that supported dca for decades before them volee and liars came into power

What about using one of the two boats Ian Douglas told us years ago his government would buy to do just that? That is, to help the farmers? That’s exactly why, if we had a savvy voting population/electorate, you all would have dumped into oblivion years ago. Your blatant lies, your spending of $$$$$ on things which bring no returns to the people, you shenanigans, deceitfulness, hatred for a section of the population that you cant control, etc, are more than enough to rile and enrage the people.

The false promises continue unabated in the par-lie-a-ment in this budget session. Every year around this time the country is bombarded with a plethora of bogus promises from these comical characters in the House of Falsehoods.

To believe these perpetual receivers with their many pompous rhetoric is like believing that an elephant can fly. The House becomes a circus where clowns put on their most fantastic performances during this time for its most fanatical apologists.

Instead of the mention of the two boats that were promised yesteryear and obviously were never delivered, why not try offering a solution to some of our supply chain issues. People will begin to listen and view your comments more seriously when doing so. This Doom and Gloom rhetoric is only good for your base. Their numbers are insufficient to turn the political landscape around therefore you need to reach new voters.Surely by now, you should have realized that this horrible strategy is not gathering any traction therefore why continue with something that’s having absolutely no effect on the electorate? That type of mindset beats the hell out of me.
