DOWASCO, the Dominica Water and Sewerage Corporation, announced earlier today that residents of Grand Bay and neighboring areas—including Pichelin, Maranatha Square, and Tete Morne—are experiencing a service disruption caused by a rupture in the supply pipeline. According to the company, this issue may also affect customers in Soufriere and Scotts Head.
A statement shared that efforts are currently in progress to repair the damaged line and restore water supply as swiftly as possible. Additionally, customers situated at higher elevations within communities served by Water Area 1 (ranging from Mero to Castle Comfort, including Campbell and Warner) are experiencing low-pressure issues, leading to intermittent service disruptions.
Communities impacted by low pressure include Wall House, Kingshill, Fond Cole, Warner, and Bellevue Rawle. DOWASCO assured affected residents that full service restoration depends on refilling tanks and building system pressure, which is expected to be achieved during the course of the day.
DOWASCO also expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and advises the public to maintain adequate water reserves for emergency situations.
For reporting faults outside regular working hours or during weekends, customers are encouraged to contact 255-2999, leave a detailed message, and provide a contact number, as stated by DOWASCO.
