The Dominica State College (DSC) is preparing to host its 2025 Freshers’ Week, a series of orientation and registration events scheduled from August 26 to August 29, 2025. This week signifies the official introduction for new students, with approximately 500 freshmen anticipated to join the college community, says a DSC release.

The purpose of Freshers’ Week is “to equip new students with the tools and resources they need for academic success, while also serving as a vibrant introduction to college life.”

DSC stated that this initiative demonstrates its dedication to facilitating a seamless and supportive transition into higher education for all incoming students.

Miss Trudy Christian, the Officer-in-Charge, encourages new students to approach the upcoming semester with positivity and enthusiasm.

The planned activities are as follows:

In the late afternoon, a Parent & Guardian Orientation will be held at 4:30 p.m., featuring a campus tour and opportunities for families to interact with college leadership and faculty.

– Wednesday, August 27, 2025 – Freshers’ Seminars
Students will attend informational sessions focusing on academic resources, departmental overviews, and introductions to faculty members. These sessions are scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m.

– Thursday, August 28, 2025 – Advising, Club Fair, and Enrollment
The day will feature academic advising sessions, presentations about student clubs and support services, and ongoing class registration. The program begins at 9:00 a.m.

Enrollment activities will continue, and the week will conclude with an afternoon of entertainment and relaxation on campus, running from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m.

DSC shared that it looks forward to welcoming the new students and remains dedicated to supporting their academic journey, personal development, and the creation of lasting memories during their time at the college.
