What is meant by the term discretion in securities markets?

Discretion is the freedom an investor gives to a broker to use his judgment regarding the execution of an
order. Discretion can be both limited and unlimited. An example of limited discretion, a broker is given a
price range within which he can use his judgment in executing the order. An example of an unlimited
discretion, a broker is not given an exact price or range to execute the order.

Regional Government Securities Market

There were no auctions on the Regional Government Securities Market this week.

The next auction scheduled to be held on the Regional Government Securities Market is the Government of the Saint Lucia’s 180-day Treasury-bill offered at maximum rate of 4.0% which will take place on 18 January 2023, using the primary market platform of the Eastern Caribbean Securities Exchange. Bidding for this auction will commence at 9:00 am and end at 12:00 pm.
