As World Priest Day approaches, scheduled for this Sunday, September 28, the Family Life Commission of the Diocese of Roseau is calling on parishioners and the wider community to observe and celebrate all Priests and Deacons.
This day has been dedicated annually on the last Sunday of September for the past 24 years in various dioceses around the world. However, this year marks its inaugural observance within the Diocese of Roseau, said a press release from the Family Life Commission.
Community members are encouraged to find meaningful and heartfelt ways to commend, affirm, and express appreciation for the clergy—priests and deacons—serving across the diocese. The group said that this special recognition offers an opportunity to honor these men in fresh, personal, and generous manners, reflecting their vital roles within the church community.
In the release, it is also stressed that this year is particularly significant for the diocese as it commemorates 175 years of evangelization. The occasion provides a fitting backdrop to make the 2025 jubilee celebration memorable, honoring the dedication of the priests and deacons, shared the statement.
The Family Life Commission also extended its heartfelt salute and recognition to all priests and deacons, whether currently serving or having served in the Diocese of Roseau. It acknowledged what it says is the profound truth that without families, there would be no priests, and without priests, the celebration of Mass and the sustenance of faith would not be possible. Therefore, the commission urges the community to affirm and appreciate their clergy like never before, emphasizing the indispensable role they play in nurturing faith and community life.
Are you kidding me? Now that’s stretching things out to prove their relevance as people have gone past that catholic jesuit priest stuff.
We sent high level political to Vatican for AID to heaven, just to be chastised for not having fixed cathedral and the church of the socouyans down south that Dominicans show no interest in fixing, otherwise they would have fixed them already. What priests, maybe year of pastors who have many more naive followers than useless priests that all speak with white priest accents.
All these priests in Dominica take to the church is their long robes. So many ills, sins and wicked have been done to innocent people and the priests remain reticent, not even a murmur.
The job of of shepherd is to protect his flock. These shepherds of the church only protect the tithes and collections. They are unmoved or indifferent to the pain, suffering and injustice need out to the poor and innocent by the sinful, vicious and vile regime led by a narcissistic, compulsive Liar.
